Used 2021 Volvo V60 for Sale nearDallas, TX

Is the 2021 Volvo V60 a good car?

The 2021 Volvo V60 earns an 8/10 expert rating, and it fits you well if you want a modern luxury wagon with a premium feel, stylish design, and everyday usefulness. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It brings strong handling and upscale interior materials, which help it stand out in a market that has largely moved away from wagons. The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, and cargo space is limited.

If you want a distinctive wagon that blends comfort, refinement, and style, the V60 makes a compelling case. Good and great deals account for 35.2% of listings, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Volvo V60 reliable?

The 2021 Volvo V60 is presented as a relatively fresh model with no significant changes for the year, which helps keep the ownership picture straightforward. Volvo’s core wagon focus also suggests a vehicle built around the brand’s comfort zone rather than a one-off experiment.

Its standard turbo-four setup is described as more linear and easier to live with than the plug-in hybrid powertrain, and the cabin is tuned for refinement with a quiet, comfortable ride in the Cross Country version. Volvo also includes a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and a four-year, 50,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium wagon can become expensive to keep up if you buy one that has been neglected or loaded with costly options.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Volvo V60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, electronics, and any signs of uneven use. Pay close attention to condition, since luxury wagons can hide expensive upkeep behind a polished presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard trims emphasize different personalities, with the R-Design leaning sportier and the Inscription adding extra chrome, while the Cross Country brings plastic body cladding and a raised ride height for a more rugged look. Base-model equipment can be sparse, so compare features carefully before you buy.
• Powertrain: The standard models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. Cross Country models add all-wheel drive, and the Polestar Engineered uses a plug-in hybrid setup with 415 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include a driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, run-off road mitigation, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist, and large-animal detection, forward-collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Pilot Assist and a 360-degree camera are available, so check whether the trim you want includes the features you expect.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and Bluetooth. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and the options list can add a head-up display and a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive turbo-four models are rated at 27 mpg combined, while the all-wheel-drive Cross Country returns 25 mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid is rated at 69 MPGe combined and offers 22 miles of all-electric range, plus 30 mpg combined in hybrid mode.

Which 2021 Volvo V60 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Volvo V60 is offered in 5 trim levels: Momentum, Inscription, R-Design, Cross Country, and Polestar Engineered.

Here's the short version:

• Momentum: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core V60 experience at the lowest starting price. It makes sense if you want the wagon’s style and standard safety tech without paying for extra appearance or capability upgrades.
• Inscription: This trim adds a more upscale look with extra chrome and suits you if you want the most traditional luxury feel in the lineup.
• R-Design: Choose this if you want the sportier styling treatment and a more aggressive visual character without moving into the plug-in hybrid model.
• Cross Country: This is the best fit if you want the more rugged look, standard all-wheel drive, and a raised ride height. It is the most distinctive all-around choice, though it is also less fuel-efficient than the front-wheel-drive models.
• Polestar Engineered: This is the performance and technology flagship, with the plug-in hybrid powertrain and the strongest output by far. It is the right pick if you want the quickest and most advanced version of the V60.

Volvo’s safety equipment is generous across the lineup, but Pilot Assist and the 360-degree camera remain optional, so check the exact build before you commit.

Is the 2021 Volvo V60 safe?

The 2021 Volvo V60 earns the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side and rollover crash tests and four-star ratings in frontal crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Volvo equips the V60 with a long list of standard safety tech, including a driver-attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, run-off road mitigation, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian, cyclist, and large-animal detection, forward-collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Pilot Assist and a 360-degree camera are available, but they are not standard.

The main caveat is the lower Acceptable rating for child-seat anchor ease of use, so families should pay close attention to how child seats fit and install.

Should I buy a 2021 Volvo V60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• It is a relatively fresh model with no significant changes for the year, so you get the current-generation V60 without added complication.

The bottom line: If you want a straightforward used V60, the 2021 model is a sensible target because it delivers the current design and equipment without major year-to-year changes. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should also compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest example with the right equipment rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
