Why it stands out
The 2021 Subaru WRX is a compelling choice for performance enthusiasts seeking an affordable sports sedan. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine delivers an impressive 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, ensuring brisk acceleration and thrilling driving dynamics. The WRX boasts standard all-wheel drive, enhancing traction and stability, particularly in challenging weather conditions. While it may lack the refinement of some competitors, such as the Honda Civic Si or Volkswagen GTI, the WRX prioritizes driving engagement. CarGurus experts have rated the WRX a solid 7.17 / 10, highlighting its sharp cornering capabilities and overall performance. The robust engine and fun-to-drive nature are counterbalanced by some limitations, including a stiffer ride and below-average fuel economy, making it essential for buyers to weigh their preferences for comfort against performance.

Great car all around. Clutch is stiff and the bite point is high, so it was an adjustment coming from something that was the opposite. Very quick, very little lag in the turbo. Feels faster than it is which makes it fun. Cobb intake was already installed at purchase (low miles though) had to tune to account for it but made the car feel smoother and more responsive. Likely will be upgrading further, but not pushing too far to failure.

I have the Limited. It has most everything I needed. Would like to have had power Front passenger seat. I would have been happy with the Base model which costs a lot less - however, none were available. Compared it to Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Hyundai Veloster. This car has what I wanted most; an manual transmission.
