Summary
With 307 currently listed for sale near Cleveland, OH and an average price of $19,579.00, 30.3% of 2021 Nissan Rogues for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Nissan Rogue 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 9 / 10.
100.0% of 2021 Rogue models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Nissan Rogue stands out as a carefully executed redesign of one of Nissan’s most important vehicles. It is described as the automaker’s best-selling model in America and one of the best-selling vehicles in America overall, which helps explain why the pressure to get this replacement right was so high. The result is a compact crossover SUV that is presented as better in every way but one, making it an especially notable entry in a crowded segment.
What gives the 2021 Rogue its appeal is the combination of style, comfort, and refinement. Its strengths include stylish design, great ride quality, and premium interior materials, and owners echo that impression by praising the smooth and refined ride, attractive design, and roomy interior. Those qualities make it easy to see why it would appeal to buyers looking for a practical SUV that feels more polished than basic transportation.
The tradeoff is that the Rogue is not the most exciting choice to drive. Its performance is described as fairly pedestrian, and the stereo is also called out as lacking. Even so, for shoppers who value comfort, interior quality, and a well-rounded everyday driving experience, the 2021 Nissan Rogue makes a strong case for itself.

For the amount features you get with this car for the price, it’s absolutely amazing. I would only wish that the lip of leather that sticks out in between the screen and middle vents wasn’t there because I feel like it blocks the airflow just a bit. And even then, I love everything else so much that that isn’t too big of a deal. The sun and moonroof is gorgeous, the leather interior and overall space is to die for, and it drive so smooth. Would definitely recommend.

I think the Rogue is an outstanding value…great size/plenty of room and safety features/good gas mileage and quality materials. My Rogue is missing Navigation and a cargo cover. I’d compare my Rogue to a RAV4 or Subaru Outback.

We have had a few Rogues in my family over the years and have never had any issues. The simple key is to keep up with maintenance schedule and not to be heavy footed. This purchase was a 2021 because it has the same 2.5 motor.- not sure yet to the new 3 liter with a turbo. 2021 is sleeker with a more firm drive. I also was looking at Mazda cx-5 for also being a sound 2.5 liter with quality reputation and great price point.

Prices have softened 10.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,073 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability. If you find a listing below $18,864.14, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 9.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise the smooth and refined ride, roomy interior, and attractive design, and they also call out the vehicle’s value for the price. The main trade-offs are that some drivers want more power and more front storage space, while the expert review also notes fairly pedestrian performance and a stereo that is lacking.
That mix fits you well if you want a practical compact SUV that feels polished, comfortable, and easy to live with rather than especially sporty. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also a decent amount of market flexibility if you’re shopping carefully.
Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to a smooth, refined, and trouble-free-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the vehicle’s value and overall satisfaction. The expert review also describes the CVT as a good one because you barely notice it, and it says the Rogue’s ride and handling are beautifully tuned for everyday use.
Nissan also says the Rogue does not offer a free maintenance program, so used buyers should pay close attention to service records and wear items before committing.
For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is buying a neglected example, so a clean history and solid maintenance documentation matter a lot.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Rogue?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any Rogue you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the brakes, tires, suspension, and electronics, since those are the areas where condition can vary most on a used crossover. Focus on how well the cabin, infotainment, and driver-assistance features work in real use, because those are major parts of the Rogue’s appeal.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The S trim starts with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a competitive safety suite, while higher trims add more convenience and luxury. The Platinum trim brings quilted semi-aniline leather, contrast stitching, ambient lighting, a larger display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display.
- Powertrain: The Rogue uses a direct-injected 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. It’s adequate for daily driving, but the expert review says it needs more power.
- Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control is not part of that standard package and starts with the SV trim as part of ProPilot Assist, which also adds lane-centering assistance.
- Infotainment: The S trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims can add NissanConnect Services, a WiFi hotspot, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant integration, and, on the SL Premium Package or Platinum, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and a Bose premium audio system.
- Fuel efficiency: The tested Rogue SL with front-wheel drive returned 27.5 mpg on a driving loop.
Which 2021 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?
The 2021 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: Rogue S, Rogue SV, Rogue SL, Rogue Platinum.
Here's the short version:
- Rogue S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Rogue experience with the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the standard Safety Shield 360 package. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Rogue, but it leaves out some of the convenience and luxury upgrades found higher up.
- Rogue SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds NissanConnect Services, a WiFi hotspot, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integration, plus ProPilot Assist with adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. It’s the trim to target if you want the strongest blend of features and everyday usability.
- Rogue SL: This trim adds a more upscale feel, and the available Premium Package brings a larger 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a Bose premium audio system. It suits you if you want a more premium cabin without going all the way to the top trim.
- Rogue Platinum: This is the luxury-focused choice, with quilted semi-aniline leather, contrast stitching, ambient lighting, wireless charging, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.8-inch head-up display. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale Rogue experience and the most technology.
Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, while adaptive cruise control and the surround-view camera system start with the SV trim.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Rogue?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.
- Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,073 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.63% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 77.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $18,864.14, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Nissan Rogue's resale value?
The current average of $18,873 sits slightly below last year's $21,117.
That price movement suggests the Rogue has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help if you buy now and later resell into a market that values well-kept examples. The current pricing also means your future resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has a clean history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue safe?
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Rogue also gets ten airbags, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system, while Platinum trim adds an airbag between the driver and front passenger.
Adaptive cruise control starts with the SV trim as part of ProPilot Assist, which also adds lane-centering assistance and a surround-view camera system. The SL Premium Package and Platinum upgrade that system further with Navi-link technology.
The main caveat is that ProPilot Assist can still behave in unanticipated ways and can issue frequent audible notifications, so you should test it yourself before relying on it heavily.
Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.63% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The redesign brings a smoother ride, better refinement, and stronger technology than the outgoing model.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $15,772, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $18,873 average.
- It’s a familiar, easy-to-live-with crossover with comfort and cargo space strengths.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $19,815, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $18,873 average.
- It adds a new turbocharged engine and class-leading fuel economy.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, refinement, and modern features, the 2021 is the strongest all-around choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 can save you money, while the 2022 makes sense if you want the newer powertrain and can pay more for it.
