Used 2021 Nissan Rogue for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2021 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 11.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,849 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Nissan Rogue earns a 5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth and refined ride, the roomy interior, and the attractive design. They also point to the vehicle’s value for the price and its impressive features, which fits a compact crossover aimed at comfort and everyday usability.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and a stereo that falls short of the rest of the package. That makes the Rogue a better fit if you care more about comfort, quality, and practicality than quick acceleration.

With its redesign, the Rogue is positioned as a more polished, family-friendly compact crossover that emphasizes refinement over excitement. It also shows strong market appeal, with 36.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the smooth ride, roomy cabin, and overall satisfaction with the purchase. The review summary also highlights the vehicle as a choice many drivers feel good about over time, especially when comfort and everyday usefulness matter most.

The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the Rogue as a cost-effective compact crossover that offers more for less. It also notes that the vehicle does not include a free maintenance program, so long-term ownership costs still deserve attention when you shop used.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic satisfaction and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Rogue?

At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. It’s also smart to focus on cabin condition, electronics, and how smoothly the drivetrain and driver-assistance features operate during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rogue S is the entry point, the SV is typically the most popular trim level, the SL adds a little luxury, and the Platinum brings semi-aniline quilted leather and other upscale amenities. Base-trim shoppers should note that the more luxurious cabin materials and some premium features are reserved for higher trims.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a direct-injected 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and a CVT. It’s adequate for daily driving, but the review says it needs more power.
• Safety package: Every Rogue gets Nissan Safety Shield 360, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Adaptive cruise control starts with the SV as part of ProPilot Assist, and the SV also adds a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: S trim includes an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. SV and SL add NissanConnect Services, a WiFi hotspot, and Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integration, while the SL Premium Package and Platinum add a 9-inch touchscreen, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The tested Rogue SL with front-wheel drive returned 27.5 mpg on a mixed driving loop.

Which 2021 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2021 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: Rogue S, Rogue SV, Rogue SL, Rogue Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Rogue S: This is the value play if you want the Rogue’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the full Safety Shield 360 suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• Rogue SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds NissanConnect Services, a WiFi hotspot, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integration, adaptive cruise control through ProPilot Assist, and a surround-view camera system.
• Rogue SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel, since it adds a little luxury to the equation and can be paired with the Premium Package for more tech and comfort.
• Rogue Platinum: This is the trim for you if you want the most premium Rogue experience, with semi-aniline quilted leather, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.8-inch head-up display.

Safety-wise, the Rogue SV is the first trim to add adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,849 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,998, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $17,998 sits slightly below last year's $20,298.

That price movement suggests the Rogue has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. A lower current entry point can also make the vehicle easier to resell later if you keep mileage and condition in check.

Because the model still has strong owner satisfaction and broad shopper appeal, demand should remain healthy among used buyers. That helps support resale value over time, especially for well-kept examples with clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2021 Nissan Rogue earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Rogue comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also includes ten airbags, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system.

Adaptive cruise control starts with the SV trim as part of ProPilot Assist, and the SV also adds a surround-view camera system. Higher trims can add upgraded ProPilot Assist with Navi-link technology, which adjusts speed for curves and freeway ramps.

The review also notes that crash-test results were unavailable at the time of testing, so you should still pay close attention to the specific vehicle’s condition and equipment when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a smoother ride, better steering feel, and a more upscale cabin.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $14,959, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $17,998 average.
• It may appeal if you want a familiar, practical crossover with attractive deals.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $19,023, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $17,998 average.
• It brings a new turbocharged engine and improved fuel economy.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, refinement, and modern features, the 2021 is the primary pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the cheaper route; if you want the newer powertrain, the 2022 is the upgrade path.
