Is the 2021 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Is the 2021 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that many drivers trust for dependable use, with praise centered on its smooth ride, good value, and trouble-free everyday ownership experience. That said, some owners have flagged transmission behavior, so you should pay close attention to how the truck shifts during a test drive. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title status, and service records. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, since some owners have reported shifting issues and wheel hop. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and how the truck drives under load, especially if you plan to use it for towing or regular work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Frontier?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,295 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,433, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $22,326 sits slightly below last year's $22,854.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. A lower entry cost can also make it easier to hold value relative to what you pay today. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,804, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $22,326 average.
• It offers a simpler, rugged setup with off-road appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,380, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,326 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with more modern comfort and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2021 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter and you value simplicity over refinement, the 2020 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
