Used 2021 Nissan Armada for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2021 Nissan Armada cost?

Prices have softened 10.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 859 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Nissan Armada a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Nissan Armada earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, towing capability, luxury feel, and the big touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay. The trade-offs are familiar: poor fuel economy, outdated technology in places, and handling that still trails more modern rivals.

For you, that means the Armada makes the most sense if you want a large three-row SUV with strong space and towing credentials rather than maximum efficiency or the sharpest road manners. 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Nissan Armada reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on comfort, towing strength, and features that owners can count on day to day. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Armada as a capable, traditional body-on-frame SUV with proven mechanical hardware.

The ownership risk for used buyers is less about outright fragility and more about whether you can live with its age-related compromises over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Armada?

At 73.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Because this is a large SUV with a lot of equipment, it also makes sense to focus on how well the cabin electronics, cameras, and driver-assistance features work in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Armada is sold in S, SV, SL, and Platinum grades. The base trim gets the core redesign and standard LED lighting, but higher trims add more upscale equipment, and the Platinum brings the most premium cabin presentation.
• Powertrain: Every Armada uses a 5.6-liter V8 with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, automatic four-wheel drive is available, and fuel economy is a weak point.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and rear automatic braking. Some advanced driver-assist systems are not offered.
• Infotainment: The 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, Bluetooth, USB Type-A and Type-C ports, and a WiFi hotspot. Wireless charging, a Bose audio system, a rearview camera mirror, and rear-seat entertainment are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Rear-wheel-drive models are rated at 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined. Four-wheel-drive models are rated at 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Nissan Armada trim should I buy?

The 2021 Nissan Armada is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the refreshed styling, standard safety tech, and the big 12.3-inch touchscreen without pushing the price too high. It makes sense if you want the Armada’s core strengths and can live without the extra luxury features.
• SV: This is the trim that adds more convenience and is the best-value choice for many shoppers. It sits in the middle of the lineup and gives you a better balance of equipment and price than the top trims.
• SL: This trim adds more upscale content and is also the one that can get the Midnight Edition Package. If you want a more distinctive look and more premium features without going all the way to Platinum, this is the sweet spot to consider.
• Platinum: This is the most luxurious version, with quilted leather seating and the most standard tech and comfort features. It suits you best if you want the Armada at its most upscale and don’t mind paying for it.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assist technologies are not available.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Nissan Armada?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 859 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,750, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Nissan Armada's resale value?

The current average of $26,128 sits slightly below last year's $29,188.

That drop suggests the Armada has moved into a softer pricing environment, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. A lower current average also means future resale will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level.

If you keep the vehicle well maintained and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position to preserve value. Higher-trim examples with desirable features may also hold buyer interest more effectively than stripped-down versions.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Nissan Armada safe?

The NHTSA has given the Armada a three-star rollover rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Armada comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and rear automatic braking. Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear door alert are also standard.

You can add a rear camera mirror and surround-view camera system, but the Armada does not offer advanced driver-assist technologies like Nissan ProPilot Assist or Super Cruise. The rollover rating is the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Armada or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a freshened appearance and upgraded technology while keeping the same strong V8 and roomy cabin.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $31,760, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $26,128 average.
• It keeps the traditional body-on-frame formula and adds the next model year's perspective on the Armada's old-school appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and the core strengths remain intact. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2022 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2021’s stronger market position.
