Why it stands out
The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE distinguishes itself in the crowded luxury SUV market through its unparalleled comfort and cutting-edge technology. With a redesign introduced in 2020, the GLE offers a stunning interior filled with high-quality materials, advanced infotainment functionalities, and numerous customization options that enhance the driving experience. The vehicle's performance is another strong suit, featuring multiple powertrain configurations including hybrid options, which provide a refined balance between power and efficiency. Although criticized for its uninspired styling and a base engine that may not meet the expectations of some buyers, the GLE excels in ride quality and handling, making it feel more agile than many vehicles in its class. Overall, it is a luxurious option for buyers seeking both performance and premium features tailored to their needs.

Exceptional comfort and convenience factors. Beautiful symphonic sound. Beeping of the parking sensors is excessively distant; it should send weaker signals outside of 1 zone to avoid confusion when parking in tight quarters in modern high rise garages. Performance is not up to par with a Cayenne GTS at same price point. GLE is too heavy, lumbers on its suspension when cruising at city limit speeds, transmission is reluctant to kick down in Sport, and brakes are not impressive. Mid-throttle acceleration is fast but not wow. Dash touch screen is terrific.

This SUV is a masterpiece from MB, the luxury and sporty performance is perfectly on point. Wouldn’t want any other SUV with a similar price point.

For me , the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE- Class is the perfect option. It’s seating and cargo capacity are not that of the larger SUVs like the Escalade, Navigator, Expedition, etc…, but it feels like a large SUV and the cargo capacity is good despite not having the extra length. The year model is just right because the prices typically reflect the “new car” depreciation mostly gone and the technology in the car is very similar, if not identical, to the current 2023 models. I went with the AMG GLE 63 s for the best this class offers at a price that is more in-line with the 350 or 450 models. I don’t regret my purchase at all. Thanks Car Gurus!!
