How much does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT cost?

Prices have softened 3.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 269 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Safety.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT stands out as a four-passenger Benz that emphasizes style and performance above all else, while still offering surprising practicality. It blends high performance with luxury and a useful hatchback-style layout, so you get a car that can feel like multiple vehicles in one.

The trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, the ride quality is poor, and a manual transmission is not offered. Even so, the car’s fun-to-drive character, strong handling, and powerful engine make it especially compelling if you want excitement without giving up everyday usability.

32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is described as a car that exceeds expectations in the right ways, with a blend of rarity, performance, design, and practicality that supports confidence in the ownership experience. Its performance hardware is developed by Mercedes-AMG, and the car is engineered to deliver strong acceleration, braking, ride, and handling qualities.

The performance setup is built around a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission, a performance-tuned AWD system, and a three-stage traction and stability control system. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a car that is easy to drive at everyday speeds despite its extreme capability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that this is a highly specialized performance car, so condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a mainstream sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with this much performance hardware. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the car has been maintained consistently. Because this model can be optioned heavily, make sure the equipment on the car you’re considering matches what you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT 43, GT 53, GT 63, and GT 63 S each bring substantial increases in power and performance, and the GT 63 S is the most extreme version described here. The base-level versions are the sensible picks if you want the car’s character without chasing the highest-output setup.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes multiple powertrain choices, and the fastest version uses a hand-built twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with 630 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The performance content also notes a claimed 3.1-second run to 60 mph for that version.
• Safety package: A Driver Assistance Package is available and installs no fewer than 14 driver-assist features. Standout features include Active Emergency Stop Assist, extended re-start in stop-and-go traffic, Active Lane Change Assist, and Congestion Emergency Braking.
• Infotainment: The MBUX system uses two flat 12.3-inch display screens under one piece of glass. It includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, navigation, Mercedes Me connected services, near-field communications for secure wireless connectivity, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The slowest version accelerates to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, but no MPG or MPGe figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is offered in 4 trim levels: GT 43, GT 53, GT 63, GT 63 S.

Here's the short version:

• GT 43: This is the sensible entry point if you want the AMG GT’s style, practicality, and performance without chasing the most extreme output. It still gives you the four-door coupe concept and the user-friendly MBUX cabin, while keeping the lineup’s core appeal intact.
• GT 53: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger performance step-up while staying short of the most expensive versions. It should suit you if you want more power and presence than the GT 43, but don’t need the full force of the top trims.
• GT 63: This trim is for you if you want a more serious performance focus and are willing to pay for it. The available content frames the GT 63 and GT 63 S as the versions for buyers who want “the best,” with performance that goes well beyond everyday use.
• GT 63 S: This is the top-performance choice, with the hand-built twin-turbocharged V8 and the most extreme capability in the lineup. It makes sense if you want the most powerful, most track-oriented version and are comfortable paying for hardware you may not fully exploit on public roads.

A Driver Assistance Package is available, and it adds 14 driver-assist features.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 269 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.39% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.3% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT's resale value?

The current average of $73,450 sits slightly below last year's $76,027.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the car easier to acquire now than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because this model has strong enthusiast appeal and a high satisfaction rating, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT safe?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

A Driver Assistance Package is available, and it installs no fewer than 14 driver-assist features. The package is optional, so you should confirm whether a used example has it before you buy. If safety tech matters to you, that package is worth prioritizing.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mercedes describes it as a four-door supercar with surprising practicality.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $81,692, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $73,450 average.
• It is described as a raw, razor-sharp exotic sports car with a serious performance focus.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger value proposition, the 2021 is the better starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid inventory and strong satisfaction. If you’re shopping purely for the earlier car’s more exotic, track-focused character and don’t mind paying more, the 2020 remains the alternative to consider.
