Used 2021 MINI Cooper for Sale nearJacksonville, FL

How much does the 2021 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 1.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 374 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2021 MINI Cooper earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 7/10.

Owners consistently praise its fun driving experience, sporty performance, and modern technology. Many also like the four-door layout for added practicality, along with the comfortable and well-equipped interior.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not the most practical choice in its class, and value can be hard to justify. It fits you best if you want a small car with personality and engagement behind the wheel rather than maximum everyday utility.

With 41.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2021 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels fun, sporty, and modern, with enough everyday appeal that many owners are happy to live with it over time. The expert review also describes the MINI as engaging and energetic, which supports the idea that it can be a satisfying long-term companion if you value character and driving enjoyment.

Mini’s warranty coverage includes a four-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty and a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty, which helps with early ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s charm comes with compromises in space, ergonomics, and value, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 MINI Cooper?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not guarantee a clean individual car. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to use the MINI as a daily driver, and pay close attention to interior wear, feature operation, and overall condition.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin design is distinctive and high quality, but the car is still tight on space, and the back seats are best suited to very limited use.
• Powertrain: The base model uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder with 134 horsepower, while higher-output versions add more power; the manual transmission is standard on the Cooper and Cooper S.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear parking sensors. Other safety features are optional, so check carefully for equipment gaps.
• Infotainment: The base screen is 6.5 inches, while an 8.8-inch screen is available with SiriusXM satellite radio and Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration listed returns 28/37/31 mpg city/highway/combined, while the Cooper S Convertible returns 23/32/26 mpg.

Which 2021 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2021 MINI Cooper is offered in 4 trim levels: Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works, John Cooper Works GP.

Here's the short version:

• Cooper: This is the entry point, and it gives you the MINI experience with the base turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and a manual transmission. It makes the most sense if you want the classic MINI personality at the lowest starting point.
• Cooper S: This is the best-value choice if you want a stronger all-around drive, since it adds the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and more punch without jumping all the way to the performance-focused models.
• John Cooper Works: This trim is for you if you want a much quicker MINI, with a 228-hp turbo-four and a more serious performance character.
• John Cooper Works GP: This is the most extreme version, with the 301-hp turbo-four and the strongest acceleration in the lineup.

The standard safety equipment is limited, so check carefully for optional driver-assistance features on any trim you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 MINI Cooper?

The market leans in your favor right now, especially if you are willing to compare listings closely and move quickly on a strong example.

• Deal availability: 41.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 374 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,601, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $20,606 sits slightly below last year's $21,023.

That softer pricing suggests the MINI Cooper has already absorbed some near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you shop carefully now, you may reduce the amount of value lost over your ownership period.

Its niche appeal can help support demand, especially among buyers who want style and personality in a small package. Still, resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2021 Mini Cooper missed out on a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It scored top "Good" ratings in crash tests, but headlights were rated either "Acceptable" or "Poor," and the LATCH system earned a "Marginal" rating for ease of use.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear parking sensors. Other safety features, including front parking sensors, parking assistance, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning, are optional.

That means you should pay close attention to the exact safety equipment on any used example, because trim and option content can vary a lot.

Should I buy a 2021 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

Choose the 2021 if:

• 41.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 adds a manual transmission option and several new features.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $18,751, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $20,606 average.
• It adds an electric powertrain option.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,972, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $20,606 average.
