Used 2021 Lexus NX for Sale nearAnn Arbor, MI

How much does the 2021 Lexus NX cost?

Prices have softened 1.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 997 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Lexus NX a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Lexus NX earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, safety features, and comfortable interior, and the cabin is also described as quiet. The trade-offs are road noise, a desire for more space in the seats, and a cramped back seat. For you, that means the NX makes the most sense if you want a polished luxury compact SUV for everyday use rather than maximum rear-seat room or the most refined interior details.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2021 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people tend to trust and count on, with praise centered on its dependable feel, stylish design, and comfortable cabin. The expert evaluation also describes it as a traditional Lexus with good fit and finish and a reputation that compares favorably with some rivals on reliability. Lexus also includes a 10-year subscription to maintenance alerts through its connected service, which can help you stay ahead of routine upkeep.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly, since age and mileage can magnify any neglected wear items.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Lexus NX?

At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, cabin wear, and whether the infotainment and driver-assistance features work as expected. Because the NX can feel cramped in back and some owners mention road noise, it’s also worth checking whether the vehicle still feels comfortable to you on a longer test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The NX 300 comes in base and Luxury trims, while the NX 300 F Sport adds a sportier appearance with a honeycomb grille, triple-beam LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, and quilted NuLuxe sport seats. The base trim gets standard 17-inch wheels and power-folding mirrors, so you should compare whether the F Sport styling and upgraded cabin details are worth the extra cost.
• Powertrain: The NX 300 and NX 300 F Sport use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and the transmission is a six-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard and includes a rearview camera, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard too, while park assist, a surround-view camera system, and adaptive headlights are optional.
• Infotainment: A standard 8-inch touchscreen is paired with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10.3-inch screen is available with the Navigation package. That package also adds predictive traffic information, HomeLink, and Lexus Enform Destination Assist.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model is rated at 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined, while AWD drops combined efficiency to 24 mpg. The F Sport AWD matches that 24 mpg combined figure.

Which 2021 Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Lexus NX is offered in 3 trim levels: NX 300, NX 300 F Sport, and NX 300 Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• NX 300: This is the starting point and the best-value choice if you want the NX’s core strengths without paying for extra styling or luxury upgrades. It gives you the standard turbocharged engine, the standard safety suite, and the basic infotainment setup, so it covers the essentials well.
• NX 300 F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportiest look and the most distinctive cabin treatment. It adds the F Sport exterior design, exclusive quilted NuLuxe sport seats, and extra performance-themed details, but it is more about appearance and feel than a major mechanical upgrade.
• NX 300 Luxury: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale version of the gas NX and are willing to pay more for it. It sits above the other trims and is the right pick if comfort and premium features matter more to you than price.

Safety equipment is strong across the lineup, with Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 standard on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Lexus NX?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 997 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,464, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $28,575 sits slightly below last year's $28,969.

That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can expect in the near term. The current pricing trend suggests the NX is holding value reasonably well rather than dropping sharply, which is a positive sign for long-term ownership. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and maintain it carefully, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Lexus NX safe?

The 2021 Lexus NX earns Good scores from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.0 is standard, and it includes a rearview camera, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard too, while park assist, a surround-view camera system, and adaptive headlights are optional extras.

The main caveat is that some helpful safety upgrades are not standard, so you’ll want to confirm exactly which driver-assistance features are on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the familiar Lexus formula of good looks, a high-quality interior, and agile driving dynamics.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,364, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $28,575 average.
• It brings a redesigned, more attractive, more dynamic, and more technologically advanced package.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and the familiar Lexus strengths, the 2021 is the smarter buy. If you care more about newer design and a more modern tech-forward feel, the 2022 is the better path, but you’ll pay a meaningful premium for it. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2021 offers the better value proposition.
