How much does the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport cost?

Prices have softened 17.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 998 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Yes — with a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, this model year lands in strong territory overall. The 2021 Range Rover Sport stands out because it blends luxury with genuine off-road ability, while still delivering composed and dynamic on-road handling. That makes it a versatile premium SUV if you want something that can handle pavement, dirt, mud, and rough terrain without feeling out of place in daily driving.

The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and limited cargo space when the third row is in use. If you value a polished cabin, multiple powertrain choices, and broad capability, those compromises may be easy to live with.

Good and great deals account for 39.1% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 Range Rover Sport’s appeal comes from its mix of luxury, capability, and composed road manners, which suggests it can satisfy owners who want one SUV to do a lot of different jobs. Its expert evaluation also points to strong performance and a broad range of uses, from everyday commuting to rougher terrain.

The infotainment system can be unintuitive, so you should pay close attention to how well the controls and screens work during a test drive. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that a complex luxury SUV can become expensive if prior maintenance or repairs were neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report, then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury SUVs. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, electronics, suspension, and any features tied to the vehicle’s more complex equipment. If you are considering a third-row-equipped example, make sure the cargo and seating layout still fits your needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE trim includes leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker Meridian premium sound system, a WiFi hotspot, and the dual-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add features such as quad-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 19-speaker Meridian sound system, refrigerated center console, power soft-close doors, and 22-way power-adjustable front seats.
• Powertrain: The base mild-hybrid setup uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 355 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque. Other options include a 395-hp version of that powertrain, a plug-in hybrid with 398 hp, a diesel V6 with 254 hp, and V8s rated at 518 hp or 575 hp.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and front-and-rear parking sensors. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert require extra cost. Available features include a surround-view parking camera, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness monitoring, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: The dual-screen setup uses one screen for climate and vehicle settings and another for infotainment. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system has a learning curve even though it includes a real volume button and configurable dials.
• Fuel efficiency: Mild-hybrid models return 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid is rated at 42 MPGe combined with 19 miles of electric range and 19 mpg combined in hybrid mode. The diesel returns 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 7 trim levels: SE, HSE Silver, HST, HSE Dynamic, Autobiography, SVR, and SVR Carbon Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, the Meridian audio system, WiFi hotspot capability, and the dual-screen infotainment setup with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is the trim to consider if you want the core Range Rover Sport experience without chasing extras.
• HSE Silver: This trim adds a more upscale feel with quad-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 19-speaker Meridian sound system. It is a strong value step up if you want more comfort and convenience.
• HST: This trim keeps much of the HSE Silver equipment but upgrades the powertrain and swaps in tri-zone climate control. It is the better pick if you want more performance without jumping all the way to the V8 models.
• HSE Dynamic: This trim is defined by its supercharged V8 engine, plus a limited-slip differential and a two-speed transfer case. It suits you if you want a more muscular, capability-focused version of the Range Rover Sport.
• Autobiography: This is where the luxury focus really ramps up, with 22-way power-adjustable front seats, power soft-close doors, and many of the optional features from lower trims. It is the right choice if comfort and prestige matter most.
• SVR: This performance model adds a more powerful V8, performance-oriented front-and-rear sport seats, and a stiffer suspension. It is the trim for buyers who want the most aggressive driving character.
• SVR Carbon Edition: This version builds on the SVR with carbon fiber accents and 22-inch alloy wheels. It is best if you want the SVR formula with a more distinctive appearance.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and front-and-rear parking sensors, while adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 998 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,461, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $32,471 sits slightly below last year's $39,290.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a favorable price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition so it stands out in a market where prices have already softened.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Range Rover Sport comes with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and front-and-rear parking sensors as standard. If you want adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, or rear cross-traffic alert, you will need to look for a vehicle equipped with those extras. Available upgrades also include a surround-view parking camera, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness monitoring, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and a head-up display.

Should I buy a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines luxury with genuine off-road ability while still feeling composed on pavement.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,642, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $32,471 average.
• It pairs plug-in hybrid efficiency with traditional off-road capability.

The bottom line: Choose the 2021 if you want the broader, more versatile Range Rover Sport package and are comfortable paying a bit more for it. If your priority is lower purchase price and you like the idea of an electrified luxury SUV, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path.
