What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Land Rover Range Rover?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with multiple powertrain and technology configurations. Focus on overall condition, because the Range Rover’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and equipped.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The HSE Westminster special edition adds a more upscale setup than the standard configuration, and the base model does not include the more advanced driver aids that appear on higher packages.
• Powertrain: You can shop multiple engine choices, including turbodiesel V6, supercharged 5.0-liter V8, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options; the tested setup uses a mild-hybrid turbocharged inline-six with 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, front and rear parking sensors, and a speed limiter for the cruise control. The Drive Pack adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, traffic sign recognition, and driver monitoring, while the Drive Pro Pack adds active blind-spot monitoring, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, and high-speed automatic emergency braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses dual 10-inch touchscreens, and the setup supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is not especially intuitive, so you should test the menus and controls before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The tested vehicle returned 20 mpg in combined driving, and the evaluation loop average was 18.5 mpg.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 856 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,938, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover's resale value?

The current average of $38,938 sits slightly below last year's $47,374.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale returns. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less room for depreciation shock than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The Range Rover’s premium image and strong owner satisfaction can still support demand when you eventually sell. Condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot, especially in a luxury SUV market where buyers expect a lot for the money.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2021 Range Rover model includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, front and rear parking sensors, and a speed limiter for the cruise control. If you want more advanced driver assistance, you need to move up to optional packages.

The Drive Pack adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, traffic sign recognition, and a driver monitoring system. The Drive Pro Pack adds active blind-spot monitoring, stop-and-go adaptive cruise control, and high-speed automatic emergency braking. The Driver Assist Pack adds lane-centering assistance and a 360-degree surround-view camera, while the Park Pack adds rear cross-traffic warning and a Clear Exit Monitor.

One caveat is that the adaptive cruise control can be slow to respond when traffic clears, so you should test that behavior if you plan to use it often.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.81% compared with last year.
