Used 2021 Jeep Cherokee for Sale near Louisiana

How much does the 2021 Jeep Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 10.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,218 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Jeep Cherokee earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its great value, smooth ride, and numerous safety features, and many also like the advanced technology and off-road capability. The main trade-offs are its polarizing design, underwhelming base engine, and limited cargo space.

For you, that means the Cherokee makes the most sense if you want a midsize SUV with a distinctive look, easy-to-use tech, and a broader capability story than many rivals. It also shows 35.9% good or great deals in the market, which helps if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2021 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable, trouble-free, and worth counting on over time. The expert notes also describe it as a good all-around family hauler, which supports the idea that it can serve well as a long-term daily driver.

If you’re buying used, the biggest ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and doesn’t have hidden condition issues that could erode that strong satisfaction story.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Jeep Cherokee?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one priced well below the market average. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the equipment on the vehicle matches the trim you expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level Latitude with 17-inch wheels and front-wheel drive looks basic, while the 80th Anniversary Edition adds 19-inch Granite Crystal wheels and painted lower body cladding for a nicer appearance. The panoramic sunroof is an available upgrade that changes the feel of the cabin.
• Powertrain: You’re offered a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower on Latitude and Latitude Plus, a 3.2-liter V-6 with 271 hp, and an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque on Latitude Lux and Limited. All models use a nine-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Lane departure warning with lane keep assist, full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring are standard on every trim level. Adaptive cruise control with stop and go is limited to the Limited and Trailhawk, and it is part of an option package on the Trailhawk.
• Infotainment: The Cherokee uses Uconnect with a 7-inch touchscreen on Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Latitude Lux, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen on Limited and Trailhawk. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wired, not wireless, and the SUV also offers a 4G WiFi hotspot and Amazon Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy reaches up to 31 mpg highway on FWD models with the optional 2.0-liter turbo engine. AWD models with the base 2.4-liter engine are rated at 29 mpg highway, 21 mpg city, and 24 mpg combined, while AWD V-6 models with Active Drive II return 21 mpg combined and 18 mpg city.

Which 2021 Jeep Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee is offered in 5 trim levels: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Latitude Lux, Limited, Trailhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Latitude: This is the starting point, and it gives you the basic Cherokee experience with the 2.4-liter engine and the smaller 7-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price, but it is the most stripped-down version.
• Latitude Plus: This trim keeps the same core setup as Latitude but gives you a step up in equipment without jumping into the pricier upper trims. It is the better value if you want a little more comfort and convenience without overcommitting.
• Latitude Lux: This is the trim to watch if you want the optional 2.0-liter turbo engine, which adds stronger torque and better efficiency potential. It is a smart middle-ground choice for buyers who want more power and a more upscale feel.
• Limited: This trim brings the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen and is one of the two trims that can get adaptive cruise control with stop and go. It is the best fit if you want a more complete daily-driver setup.
• Trailhawk: This is the most capability-focused trim, with the off-road hardware described in the expert notes and the larger 8.4-inch screen. It suits you best if you care most about trail use and want the Cherokee’s most rugged character.

Adaptive cruise control with stop and go is only available on the Limited and Trailhawk, and it is part of an option package on the Trailhawk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,218 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,743, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $18,743 sits slightly below last year's $20,848.

That softer pricing suggests the Cherokee has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help a future seller if you buy at the right price. If you pay close to the low end of the range, you reduce the amount of value left to lose before resale.

The market also appears reasonably active, which can help support demand when you eventually sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Jeep Cherokee safe?

The Cherokee did not earn a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS, and it earned a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA with a slight demerit for front driver side crash protection.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Cherokee does earn top “Good” scores in every crashworthiness category and a G+ score for ease of use of the LATCH child seat anchors. The main caveat is headlight performance: upper trims received an “Acceptable” rating, while the rest received a “Marginal” rating.

Standard safety equipment includes lane departure warning with lane keep assist, full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control with stop and go is limited to the Limited and Trailhawk, and it is part of an option package on the Trailhawk.

Should I buy a 2021 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert notes emphasize impressive, easy-to-use technology and a vehicle that is good at what it does and capable of doing more than many buyers might expect.

The bottom line: The 2021 Cherokee makes sense if you want a used SUV with strong tech, solid owner satisfaction, and a market that currently favors shoppers. If you’re price-sensitive, the softened pricing and decent inventory make this a good year to target; if you want the newest feature set, you may want to compare it with later model years before deciding.
