The Hyundai Ioniq Electric is a full battery-electric vehicle (BEV), similar to the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Kia Niro EV, and Nissan Leaf. Unfortunately, the Limited’s infotainment system requires you to have a USB cord for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and lacks the wireless functionality of the 8-inch system on the SE. Safety-wise, the SE trim bundles a reversing camera, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, driver attention warning, and automatic high beams. The Limited trim tacks on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. While neither the National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has evaluated the Ioniq Electric specifically, other models within the Ioniq family have received high praise for crashworthiness and crash avoidance.
