overall

Summary
With 3,097 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,948.00, 29.5% of 2021 Honda Accords for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Honda Accord 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 9.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2021 Honda Accord stands out as one of the bestselling cars in the U.S. for good reason. For the 2021 model year, Honda took the Accord in a more elevated direction by refining its features list, adding a trim level, and pricing it to compete against other heavyweights in the industry. Honda also made safety a priority in the 2021 Accord, helping this fresh version earn high praise.
Beyond those updates, the Accord’s appeal comes through in its stylish design, great handling, and spacious cabin. Those strengths make it an easy car to recommend for buyers who want a well-rounded sedan with a polished feel. The main drawbacks are that all-wheel drive is not available and the technology is outdated, so shoppers looking for the latest tech or extra traction may want to keep those limits in mind.

I think the car has all features that I needed . Because of the low miles and condition I think it was great value. Only thing it was missing was a sunroof . the most similar options are the camry xse and bmw 3 Series.

My second Accord, this was to replace a 2018 that was totaled in an accident. I've driven a Camry, K5, Buick Regal, Altima, and several other sedans and this is the best built in a world with fewer and fewer available

How much does the 2021 Honda Accord cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $21,988 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,648.10 |
| Year-Round High | $23,354.69 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,355 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.85% |
Prices have softened 5.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 3,155 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.
If you find a listing below $21,648.10, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Honda Accord earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 9.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Drivers consistently praise its great performance, luxurious features, and good gas mileage. They also like the modern look and technology, and the car’s overall polish comes through in the way it balances style, handling, and cabin space.
The main trade-offs are that it is not the fastest option and some shoppers feel the pricing is high for the features offered. For you, that means the Accord makes the most sense if you want a well-rounded sedan with a refined feel rather than the most aggressive or bargain-priced choice.
With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Drivers describe it as a car they can count on, with praise centered on dependable performance, good gas mileage, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience. The feedback also points to strong long-term appeal, especially for buyers who want a sedan that feels solid and easy to live with.
Honda’s performance tuning also supports that impression, with smooth acceleration, easy maneuverability, and braking that engages more smoothly at low speeds. The Accord’s maintenance-friendly ownership story is helped by Honda’s cost-conscious approach to the model.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about finding a well-kept example with consistent service history.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Accord?
At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment on the car matches the trim you expect. Because the Accord was sold in multiple configurations, it is worth confirming the exact feature set before you commit.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX is the most stripped-down version, while upper trims add leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated mirrors, keyless entry, and remote engine start. The base model also misses some of the more upscale appearance and convenience touches found higher up the range.
- Powertrain: The Accord offers a 192-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a CVT and a 252-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-four with a 10-speed automatic. The smaller engine is the efficiency play, while the larger one is the stronger performer.
- Safety package: Every Accord includes Honda Sensing with lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams. Higher trims add rear-seat reminder, low-speed braking control, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: Every Accord gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, hands-free text messaging, and two USB ports. Higher trims add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a premium audio system, WiFi hotspot capability, and Near Field Communication.
- Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 30 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined. The 2.0-liter engine returns 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.
Which 2021 Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2021 Honda Accord is offered in 6 trim levels: LX, Sport 1.5T, Sport Special Edition (SE), EX-L, Sport 2.0T, and Touring.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The LX gives you the essentials, but it is the least upscale version and misses the richer seating and convenience upgrades found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The Sport Special Edition (SE) is the best value pick because it adds leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated mirrors, keyless entry, and remote engine start.
- Premium/top trim: The Touring is the most fully equipped choice, adding the strongest mix of tech and luxury features, including the head-up display and HomeLink Remote.
- Off-road trim: Not applicable here.
The safety suite is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert and other added safety conveniences arrive only as you move up the trim ladder.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Accord?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.
- Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 3,155 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.85% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 64.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,648.10, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $21,988 sits slightly below last year's $23,355.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone.
Because the Accord still draws strong shopper interest and has solid owner satisfaction, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than weaker competitors. Higher-demand trims and clean history examples are likely to hold up better than cars with accident records or visible wear.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Honda Accord safe?
The Accord earns the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in all crash testing scenarios.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Every Accord comes standard with Honda Sensing, which includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high beams. Standard safety equipment also includes vehicle stability assist with traction control, brake assist, a rearview camera, and LED daytime running lights.
Higher trims add rear-seat reminder, low-speed braking control, and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert. The EX-L and Touring also add parking sensors, giving you more help in tight spaces.
Should I buy a 2021 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 64.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.85% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Honda refined the features list, added a trim level, and made safety a priority.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $20,366, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $21,988 average.
- It feels unusually polished and practical, with a huge back seat and giant trunk.
The bottom line: If you want the more updated 2021 package with stronger safety emphasis and a broader trim lineup, this is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the smarter value play, especially if you can find one in clean condition with the features you want.
