How much does the 2021 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 13.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,008 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2021 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Ford Edge earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

It fits well if you want a roomy two-row midsize SUV with a comfortable cabin and multiple powertrain options. The trade-offs are clear: the handling is a weak point, and the technology and overall value proposition are not especially strong.

The market still shows 34.0% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Edge’s appeal for long-term ownership comes from its comfortable, practical layout and its mix of mainstream powertrain choices. It also benefits from a fairly straightforward formula rather than a complicated redesign, which can help keep ownership predictable.

Ford’s standard warranty coverage is typical for the segment, and the model’s tech and safety equipment help it feel current enough for daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear may show up sooner in a vehicle whose platform is already several years into its lifecycle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Edge?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re comparing higher-mileage examples. Focus on overall condition, because the Edge’s age and mixed value reputation make it especially important to separate a well-kept example from one that has been neglected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST each bring different visual and comfort upgrades, with the base trim missing some of the richer appearance and cabin touches found higher up.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, while the ST uses a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, post-collision braking, dynamic brake support, and rear parking sensors. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering is standard on all but the base Edge SE trim level.
• Infotainment: You get Sync 4 with a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM with 360L, and a built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Two rear USB ports, including one USB-C, were added for this model year.
• Fuel efficiency: Four-cylinder models are rated at 24 mpg combined with FWD and 23 mpg combined with AWD, while the V6 AWD ST is rated at 21 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Edge is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable giving up some of the nicer comfort and convenience touches found higher in the lineup.
• SEL: This is the trim that should appeal to most shoppers because it adds equipment without pushing you into the pricier upper trims, making it the best-value choice for many buyers.
• ST-Line: Choose this if you want the sportier look of the ST without paying for the ST’s performance upgrades.
• Titanium: This is the upscale comfort pick, with leather upholstery and a more premium feel for shoppers who want a nicer cabin.
• ST: This is the performance model, with the twin-turbo V6, standard AWD, sport seats, and a more aggressive setup for buyers who want the most power.

Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering is standard on all but the base Edge SE trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Edge?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,008 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,902, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $18,902 sits slightly below last year's $21,734.

That decline suggests the Edge has become more affordable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at today’s lower average, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher.

The model’s broad appeal as a roomy two-row SUV should help keep demand steady, especially for well-kept examples with strong equipment. Still, resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim, since the market is already pricing in the Edge’s age.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Edge safe?

The 2021 Ford Edge is a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and earns five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests, with four-star ratings in rollover crash tests from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, post-collision braking, dynamic brake support, and rear parking sensors. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering is standard on all but the base SE trim.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind: the Edge received an Advanced rating for vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention, and headlight performance varies by trim level.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 brings Sync 4 with a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and added rear USB ports.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,725, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $18,902 average.
• It is well equipped with standard tech and safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the newer tech package and a broader set of current-market listings, the 2021 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Edge’s core strengths.
