CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Chrysler 300
overall

Summary
With 43 currently listed for sale and an average price of $19,292, 20.9% of 2021 Chrysler 300 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Chrysler 300 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.7 / 10.
67.4% of 2021 Chrysler 300 listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Chrysler 300 stands out as a rare full-size American luxury sedan with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, and that alone gives it a different character from many mainstream rivals. It also starts at just $31,000 MSRP, which helps explain why it has long appealed to buyers looking for luxury-car presence without a luxury-car price. For shoppers who want more traction or more muscle, the 300 also offers all-wheel drive or a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine.
On the road, the 2021 Chrysler 300’s strengths are its comfort, quiet cabin, and easy-to-use technology. Those traits make it an appealing daily driver, and owner feedback reinforces the car’s smooth ride, impressive handling, and strong acceleration. The main drawback is value: despite its upscale feel and distinctive layout, it is still described as poor value for money, so buyers are getting a car with character and comfort rather than the latest bargain in the segment.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a newer model car. So far I love it. Still getting used to all the “bells and whistles, but those are spoiling me. Very good acceleration and speed for a V6. Very comfortable and I’m a big guy. Would recommend this car to others.

They actually got rid of some good features such as the ventilated seats and the heated steering wheel. It’s a gas guzzler as well. Other than that it’s a pretty good car. 2018 was the best version of the Chrysler 300 model honestly!

How much does the 2021 Chrysler 300 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $19,770 |
| Year-Round Low | $19,629 |
| Year-Round High | $21,285 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $21,285 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.12% |
Prices have softened 7.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 492 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2021 Chrysler 300 a good car?
Yes — the 2021 Chrysler 300 earns 4.6/5 from owners and 7.7/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.
Owners consistently praise the luxurious look, smooth ride, impressive handling, and strong acceleration. That lines up well with the car’s use case as a comfortable daily driver with a distinctive full-size, rear-wheel-drive luxury-sedan feel.
The main trade-off is value for money, and the car’s age shows in places even though it still delivers comfort and easy-to-use tech. Even so, the combination of character, comfort, and traditional layout makes it appealing if you want something different from a mainstream sedan.
There are 30.9% good or great deals in the market, which suggests you can still find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.
Is the 2021 Chrysler 300 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its smooth ride, strong acceleration, and overall comfort. The expert drive notes also describe it as quiet, capable, and comfortable on the road, which supports the idea that it’s built to be a steady long-term companion.
You should still pay close attention to maintenance history and feature content, since used examples can vary widely in equipment and condition. For a car this age, a clean service record matters as much as the badge on the trunk.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chrysler 300?
At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim car with more equipment. Focus on condition, accident repairs, and whether the features you want were actually included on the specific listing.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base 300 Touring uses 17-inch silver alloys, cloth upholstery, and a simpler lighting setup, while the Touring L adds 18-inch polished alloys and Nappa leather; the 300S brings 20-inch Black Noise wheels, perforated inserts, and accent stitching.
- Powertrain: The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 makes 292 horsepower in the Touring and Touring L, while the 300S gets 300 horsepower and can be paired with a 5.7-liter V8 with 363 horsepower; rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is available on lower trims.
- Safety package: All models include active head restraints, airbags, traction and stability control with brake assist, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and hill start assist; blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are limited to the Touring L and 300S, and the SafetyTec Plus Group adds forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, and rain-sensing wipers.
- Infotainment: Every trim gets the Uconnect 4C system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; the Popular Equipment Group adds navigation, a 506-watt amp, nine Alpine speakers, surround sound, a trunk-mounted subwoofer, SiriusXM Traffic Plus, and a dual-pane sunroof.
- Fuel efficiency: The V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined; all-wheel drive lowers that to 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined, while the V8-powered 300S gets 16 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined.
Which 2021 Chrysler 300 trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chrysler 300 is offered in 3 trim levels: 300 Touring, 300 Touring L, 300S.
Here's the short version:
- 300 Touring: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core 300 experience with the V6, rear-wheel drive, the 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the car’s quiet, comfortable character. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it’s also the most basic version in terms of wheels, upholstery, and available safety content.
- 300 Touring L: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds Nappa leather, 18-inch polished alloys, and access to more comfort and safety equipment while keeping the same relaxed V6 personality. If you want the 300’s upscale feel without jumping to the most expensive version, this is the one to target.
- 300S: This trim is for you if you want the most distinctive look and the strongest available performance, including the available 5.7-liter V8, 20-inch Black Noise wheels, paddle shifters, and more aggressive interior detailing. It’s the right pick if you care more about character and power than value.
Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are only available on the Touring L and 300S, and the SafetyTec Plus Group adds several advanced driver-assistance features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chrysler 300?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 492 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.12% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $19,629, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chrysler 300's resale value?
The current average of $19,770 sits slightly below last year's $21,285.
That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to the original market peak.
The car’s distinctive layout and strong owner satisfaction can help keep demand steady among shoppers who want a traditional full-size sedan. That said, resale will still depend heavily on trim, mileage, condition, and whether the car has the right equipment.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Chrysler 300 safe?
The 2021 Chrysler 300 earns Good ratings in most IIHS crash tests, but it receives Marginal scores in the small overlap tests and a Poor rating for headlights. It also earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star driver and passenger side crash test ratings, a four-star rollover rating, and a five-star rating for the combined side barrier and side pole crash test.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes active head restraints, airbags, traction and stability control with brake assist, rain brake support, ready alert braking, and hill start assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are limited to the Touring L and 300S, while the SafetyTec Plus Group adds forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, and rain-sensing wipers.
The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not as broadly standard as they are on some rivals, so you need to check trim and package content carefully.
Should I buy a 2021 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.12% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- You want the 2021’s combination of comfort, quiet cabin, easy-to-use technology, and a distinctive rear-wheel-drive luxury-sedan layout.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and the 2021 model’s traditional full-size-sedan character, this year is a sensible target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the lower end of the current range and prioritize condition and equipment over chasing a higher trim.
