Used 2021 Buick Envision for Sale near Rhode Island

How much does the 2021 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 7.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,164 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating, which points to a well-liked compact SUV with broad appeal. The redesigned model brings stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and a comfortable driving experience, and it feels more competitive in the premium compact SUV class than the outgoing version.

The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

That said, the trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, cargo space is limited, and the stereo is lacking. If you want a comfortable, straightforward luxury-leaning SUV rather than a sporty one, the Envision fits that use case well.

Good and great deals account for 36.1% of listings, so there’s still room to find a competitive price.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 Envision’s redesign brings a newer body structure and a more modern cabin, and Buick’s focus on comfort and straightforward tech supports an ownership experience that should feel familiar and easy to live with. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder is described as competent for daily drivability, and the model’s comfort-oriented tuning should suit buyers who prioritize a relaxed commute over hard driving.

Buick also includes a maintenance perk language in the ownership pitch for this model year, which can help soften early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Envision’s premium ambitions are stronger than its performance and cargo practicality, so you should make sure the specific vehicle’s condition and equipment match your expectations before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Buick Envision?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on cabin condition, electronics, and signs of heavy use, since this model leans on comfort and tech more than rugged utility. It’s also worth confirming that the features you want are present, because trim differences matter here.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred, Essence, and Avenir trims give the Envision distinct looks, and the base trim is the one most likely to leave out the premium touches that make the SUV feel more upscale. Avenir adds the most upscale exterior and interior details, while the Sport Touring package on Preferred and Essence adds darkened wheels and exterior accents.
• Powertrain: The 2021 model uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and the engine is described as competent for daily drivability even though performance is not the Envision’s strong suit.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a following distance indicator, forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane change alert with blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat alert, automatic emergency braking, teen-driver monitoring, and Buckle to Drive. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. The standard driver information screen is 4.2 inches, with an available 8.0-inch display, and available upgrades include navigation, a rearview camera mirror, HUD, and wireless device charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model is rated at 24 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined, while AWD versions return 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2021 Buick Envision is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Essence, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned Envision’s core strengths without pushing the price too high. It’s the trim to start with if you want the new-generation styling, standard tech, and a lower purchase price.
• Essence: This is the best-value trim if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top model. It builds on the base setup while staying more attainable than Avenir, making it the sweet spot for many shoppers.
• Avenir: This is the most premium version, with the richest exterior and interior treatment, plus available adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist. Choose it if you want the most luxury-like Envision and are willing to pay for it.

Safety-package note: adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Buick Envision?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,578, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $21,591 sits slightly below last year's $23,317.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer now but may temper short-term resale gains if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the current trend means you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable trim and features should hold up better than average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision safe?

The 2021 Buick Envision has not yet been rated by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment includes a following distance indicator, forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane change alert with blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat alert, automatic emergency braking, teen-driver monitoring, and Buckle to Drive. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models.

One important caveat is that Buick does not offer Super Cruise or lane-centering technology here, so the Envision trails some premium rivals in advanced hands-free and highway-assist capability.

Should I buy a 2021 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model is the start of a redesigned generation, with a stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and a comfortable driving experience.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Envision’s newer look, improved tech, and comfort-focused character, the 2021 is the right year to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, a different year may be worth considering, but you’ll be giving up the newer-generation styling and equipment that make this one more appealing.
