Overview

The 2021 BMW X2, a subcompact crossover, goes into its fourth year largely unchanged. Rivals include the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, Volvo XC40, and Cadillac XT4.
The X2’s coupe-like styling helps it stand out from more traditional crossovers, including its sibling, the X1. The M35i model gets an upgrade from 18- to 19-inch wheels and a new mesh grille. This year’s color palette phases out Dark Olive Metallic and Mediterranean Blue Metallic, and adds Phytonic Blue Metallic and Storm Bay Metallic.
A turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine comes standard across the lineup, with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In sDrive28i and xDrive28i models, it’s rated for 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and comes with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, respectively. The M35i gets tuned for 302 hp and 332 lb-ft and gets intelligent all-wheel drive and an upgraded eight-speed automatic. The estimated fuel-economy return for the xDrive28i is 24 mpg city, 32 highway, and 27 combined, and the M35i, 23/30/26.
The comfortable cabin comes loaded with tech and upscale touches, such as synthetic leather upholstery, 10-way power front seats, keyless start, automatic climate control, and a power rear liftgate. Options include keyless entry, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display (HUD), and a panoramic sunroof.
The X2’s infotainment features include an 8.8-inch touchscreen, navigation, voice recognition, a seven-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, and, new for this year, a one-year SiriusXM satellite radio subscription. Upgrades include wireless-device charging and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
BMW equips the X2 with a reversing camera and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Many more advanced safety features are available, including adaptive cruise control, front-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, speed-limit recognition, automatic high beams, and front and rear parking sensors.
Those looking for an upscale small crossover with strong performance and unique looks should consider the 2021 BMW X2.

Just bought a 21 X2, X drive, 28i. I love the look, the features, and the sporty drive. Only thing right away I am noticing is lack of comfort in the seat. Always hard to determine in a test drive unfortunately. I would recommend you take a long 1-2 hour test drive or rent one for a few days and really see if you like it. I think the problem is with BMWs silly thigh extender in the front of the seat. Its worthless, makes no difference and causes a hard rigid line to be where traditional seats would have soft foam. I dont like it. I am hoping I get used to it...otherwise, I dont see myself holding onto this car long term. Sad.

The cost was higher than I was looking for with the miles it had resulting in not much warranty left.
