Used 2021 BMW 4 Series for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2021 BMW 4 Series cost?

Prices have softened 6.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 663 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of choices.

Is the 2021 BMW 4 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW 4 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The 4 Series is positioned as a coupe and convertible that leans more luxurious and technology-focused than the earlier formula, and it offers both body styles for shoppers who want a premium two-door. Its handling and tech are clear strengths, but the design may be polarizing, a manual transmission is not available, and the back seat is cramped.

The main trade-offs are the polarizing styling and limited practicality, especially if you need rear-seat space. Good and great deals account for 35.6% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 BMW 4 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 4 Series is described as refined and user friendly, and its standard warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles with four years of roadside assistance. Its powertrains are also presented as strong and efficient, with the turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder options giving you a broad performance range.

BMW’s standard maintenance coverage includes the first scheduled maintenance visit on the house. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is paying luxury-car costs for a model that can become expensive once warranty coverage ends.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW 4 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has optional equipment or higher mileage. Focus on overall condition, because this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and equipped.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 430i and M440i are the key trims, and the 430i is the value-oriented choice if you want the lower entry price. The M440i adds more performance-focused hardware, while the base setup already includes standard LED headlights and taillights, front sport seats with 10-way power adjustment and driver’s memory, paddle shifters, and a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel.
• Powertrain: The 430i uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 294 pound-feet of torque, while the M440i uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 382 hp and 369 lb-ft. An eight-speed automatic is the only transmission, and the M440i coupe requires xDrive.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and speed-limit information. Adaptive cruise control requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package, which also adds steering assist and stop-and-go capability.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen, while Live Cockpit Professional upgrades to a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant voice control is included.
• Fuel efficiency: The rear-wheel-drive 430i is rated at 29 mpg combined (26 city/34 highway), while the xDrive version is rated at 27 mpg combined (24 city/33 highway). The M440i also uses a 48-volt starter/generator for better fuel efficiency.

Which 2021 BMW 4 Series trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW 4 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 430i and M440i.

Here's the short version:

• M440i: Choose this if you want the stronger six-cylinder powertrain and the more performance-focused setup. It suits you best if you care more about acceleration and premium hardware than keeping the purchase price down.

Adaptive cruise control is not standard and requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

What is the 2021 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $32,121 sits slightly below last year's $34,507.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The model’s premium positioning still helps support demand, especially for well-equipped examples in strong condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Standard driver-assistance features include lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and speed-limit information. Adaptive cruise control is not standard and requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package, which also adds steering assist and stop-and-go traffic capability.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned styling and technology-forward cabin define this year’s appeal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,479, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $32,121 average.
• It adds a five-door Gran Coupe body style with easier rear-seat access.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and the classic coupe-or-convertible setup, the 2021 is the better path. If you’re willing to spend more for easier rear-seat access and extra everyday usefulness, the 2022 is worth a look.
