Used 2021 BMW 2 Series for Sale nearEl Paso, TX

How much does the 2021 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 9.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 601 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2021 BMW 2 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW 2 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as a compact, entry-level BMW with multiple body styles, and it is described as fun to drive with great handling and impressive technology. That makes it a fit if you want a small luxury car with a more engaging character.

The trade-offs are clear: the seats are uncomfortable, the back seat is cramped, and it is considered poor value for money. Even so, the market shows 35.4% of listings as good or great deals, which can help if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 BMW 2 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 BMW 2 Series is presented as a compact luxury car with strong technology and a driving-focused personality, which can support confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its expert assessment also points to solid performance and safety credentials.

The performance notes emphasize a quick, composed powertrain with BMW’s xDrive available, and the cost-effectiveness section notes free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium small car can still bring premium repair and ownership costs once coverage ends.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW 2 Series?

At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks bodywork, alignment, and electronic systems. Focus on overall condition, because a compact luxury car with prior damage can be more expensive to sort out than it first appears.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2 Series Gran Coupe is offered in 228i and M235i model series, and the 228i can be had with xDrive while xDrive is standard on the M235i. The 228i is the better-value starting point, while the M235i adds more equipment and standard all-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: The 228i uses a 228-hp turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed sport automatic transmission, and xDrive is available. BMW also quotes a zero-to-60 mph time of six seconds flat for the 228i xDrive Gran Coupe.
• Safety package: The Active Driving Assistant umbrella includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, active blind-spot warning with intervention, and a speed limit information system. A separate Driving Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control and a parking-assistant feature.
• Infotainment: The system uses BMW iDrive 7.0 with an 8.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, navigation, connected services, and over-the-air software updates. Live Cockpit Pro adds a fully digital 10.25-inch display.
• Fuel efficiency: On the test loop, it averaged 27.9 mpg, beating the EPA’s 27 mpg combined estimate.

Which 2021 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW 2 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 228i and M235i.

Here's the short version:

• 228i: This is the best-value choice if you want the entry point to the lineup without paying for the extra performance and standard AWD of the M235i. It still gives you the core BMW experience, and xDrive is available if you want added traction.
• M235i: Choose this if you want the more powerful, better-equipped version with standard xDrive and a more performance-oriented setup.

The safety package is split between the standard Active Driving Assistant features and the optional Driving Assistance Package, so check the equipment list carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW 2 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 601 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,426, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $21,549 sits slightly below last year's $23,680.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means you should expect some depreciation pressure in the near term.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 BMW 2 Series safe?

The 2021 BMW 2 Series misses earning a Top Safety Pick due to headlights that rate either Poor or Marginal, and the vehicle-to-pedestrian test also results in a less than perfect rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Active Driving Assistant suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, active blind-spot warning with intervention, and a speed limit information system. A separate Driving Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control and a parking-assistant feature that steers the car into a space while you operate the pedals and transmission.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 adds a broader body-style lineup and strong tech, while keeping the compact BMW formula.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,813, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,549 average.
• The 2020 is an affordable entry-level BMW with standard safety features and easy-to-use tech.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,414, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $21,549 average.
• The 2022 brings a redesign with more power, larger proportions, and a refreshed look.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and owner satisfaction, the 2021 is the smart default. If you are shopping strictly on budget, the 2020 may still make sense, but the 2021’s lower average price and stronger market position make it the better starting point for most used-car buyers.
