CarGurus Analysis: 2021 Audi Q7

Summary
With 734 currently listed for sale and an average price of $26,705.00, 37.3% of 2021 Audi Q7s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Audi Q7 5 / 5 stars.
85.8% of 2021 Q7 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2021 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends strong road manners with a polished, upscale feel. It offers comfortable front and second-row seating, and its cargo area is generous enough to make the Q7 practical for family use. Owners also praise its comfort, performance, and driving experience, which fits the Q7’s reputation for being more engaging than many large luxury SUVs.
For 2021, the Q7 benefits from the second-generation updates that gave it a cleaner, more angular design and a more advanced cabin. It also has a technology story that improved over time, with Audi Virtual Cockpit, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto available, plus a more high-tech display setup that arrived in 2020. The Q7’s towing capacity can reach 7,700 pounds with the turbocharged V6, and the model’s available safety and driver-assistance features add to its appeal.
There are tradeoffs, though. The base turbocharged four-cylinder is described as needing to work hard, and fuel economy is said to suffer as a result. The Q7 also requires premium fuel, and repair costs can be high, so ownership may be less appealing to buyers focused strictly on running costs. Still, for shoppers who want a refined, capable, and well-equipped used luxury SUV, the 2021 Audi Q7 has a lot going for it.

After test driving all the major competition SUVs (Mercedes GLE, GLS, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, X7,Lexus RX350, Acura MDX) I decided to buy the Q7 because of an unparalleled driving experience, steering responsiveness, suspensions, quiet ride, confort and technology. The drive home from the dealership last night was sublime!

I have had 3 Q7s,and they all have been great machines, they are expensive but just amazing driving machines. The first one I drove back and forth from Arizona to the east coast, driving it ws a thing of joy to drive it. The other two did not go to east coast but lovd them as well. Honestly dont know any comparable vehicles to the Q7. The car is at its best with adaptive air suspension and warm weather coooling option.

If you find a listing below $26,604.68, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2021 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — owners give it a 5/5 rating, which points to strong overall satisfaction.
The review summary consistently highlights comfort, performance, and driving experience, along with a smooth ride and powerful handling. It also stands out for its luxurious features, which fits the Q7’s role as a three-row luxury SUV that still feels polished and practical for family use. If you want a used SUV that balances upscale feel with everyday usability, that combination is a strong fit.
With 37.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive example.
Is the 2021 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on comfort and performance that tends to matter over the long haul. When shoppers repeatedly describe a vehicle as something they enjoy living with every day, that usually supports confidence in how it holds up over time.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about keeping maintenance and repair costs under control.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Audi Q7?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully and confirm that the specific vehicle has a clean record, even when the broader market looks healthy. Prioritize a thorough inspection of condition, since luxury SUVs can vary a lot in how they were maintained and used. Focus especially on signs of wear that could affect ownership costs later, because that matters as much as the sticker price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Audi Q7?

- Inventory: There are 762 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,604.68, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $26,593 sits slightly below last year's $31,962.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: buying well now gives you a better chance of protecting value later. A model with broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction can still draw interest, but the recent price drop means you should be realistic about future resale expectations.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2021 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.80% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $24,635, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,593 average.
- It brings a thorough update to styling, interior, powertrain, and technology.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2021 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2020 is the more price-sensitive path and still offers a compelling update package.
