How much does the 2020 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 6.05% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,102 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive acceleration, spacious interior, and modern technology, and they also value its comfort and safety features. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a practical electric crossover with roomy packaging and everyday usability. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful opportunity to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for the vehicle’s trouble-free feel, long-term convenience, and the confidence that comes from not having to buy gas. That said, used EV ownership still rewards careful shopping, so you should focus on maintenance history, charging behavior, and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and confirm that the car’s background matches the listing. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the interior controls, touchscreen operation, and overall condition, since this model routes most functions through the screen. It also makes sense to pay close attention to ride quality and signs of wear, especially if you want a used example that still feels tight and well cared for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.05% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 77.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,260, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,318 sits slightly above last year's $24,817.

That upward movement suggests the market still values this model year well, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. If you keep the car in good condition and avoid examples with questionable history, you should have a better chance of holding value when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.05% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Model Y makes the most sense if you want the core Tesla Model Y experience with strong owner satisfaction, broad inventory, and a market that still supports demand. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the listings that land closest to the lower end of the price range.
