Used 2020 Subaru WRX STI for Sale near Nevada

How much does the 2020 Subaru WRX STI cost?

Prices have softened 3.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 363 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating and 7.67/10 expert rating point to a car that delivers strongly for the right buyer. The 2020 Subaru WRX STI is built as a rally-inspired performance sedan, and its standard all-wheel drive and manual transmission reinforce that enthusiast-first mission. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

The trade-offs are clear: the cabin is fairly Spartan, and the technology is outdated compared with newer rivals. Even so, the car’s appeal is easy to understand if you want a more analog driving experience with four-door practicality.

The market also shows 29.5% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The STI’s rally-bred hardware and standard all-wheel drive point to a car built around durability-minded performance, while the expert review describes it as likely to hold up to long-term abuse. Its performance setup is also straightforward: a turbocharged boxer engine, a six-speed manual, and a sophisticated AWD system with torque vectoring and driver-adjustable center differential settings.

The STI’s maintenance burden should still be considered carefully, especially because performance tires, brakes, and suspension components can wear faster than on a typical sedan. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about prior use and upkeep than the basic concept of the car itself.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Subaru WRX STI?

At 66.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars that may have been modified or driven hard. Focus on tire wear, brake condition, suspension health, and signs of abuse or poor maintenance. Because this model is performance-focused, condition matters more than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The STI’s interior is fairly Spartan, but the Series.White limited edition adds Ceramic White paint, matte bronze BBS 19-inch wheels, silver brake calipers, black exterior accents, a model-specific grille, Recaro front seats, and Ultrasuede upholstery. It is the most distinctive version described here.
• Powertrain: The STI uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer-four with 310 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque, paired only with a six-speed manual. Its AWD system includes torque vectoring and Subaru’s Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential.
• Safety package: EyeSight is not available with the manual transmission, so the STI misses out on forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio compatibility, and two front USB ports. The system is described as small and text-heavy.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA fuel economy is 19 mpg combined (16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway). The test car returned 19.8 mpg over a week of driving.

Which 2020 Subaru WRX STI trim should I buy?

The 2020 Subaru WRX STI is offered in 2 trim levels: STI and WRX STI Limited.

Here's the short version:

• STI: This is the core STI experience, with the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, six-speed manual, standard all-wheel drive, and the rally-bred character that defines the car. It’s the trim to choose if you want the purest version of the model without paying for extra comfort features.
• WRX STI Limited: This is the better-value choice if you want more creature comforts, since it starts higher and adds a more upscale feel. If you want the most complete daily-driver version of the STI, this is the one to target.

The safety package note is important here: EyeSight is not available on manual-transmission STI models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru WRX STI?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 363 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,504, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI's resale value?

The current average of $30,102 sits slightly below last year's $31,104.

That decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale upside may be more limited in the short term unless the car is especially clean, well maintained, or unusually desirable. The STI’s enthusiast appeal still helps support demand, but condition and originality will matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI safe?

The 2020 Subaru WRX STI earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, with five stars in all crash tests except the driver’s side frontal test. It also earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The STI does not get EyeSight driver-assistance tech because its manual transmission prevents that package from being offered. That means you miss out on forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. The safety picture is solid on crash performance, but the lack of advanced driver assistance is a meaningful gap.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru WRX STI or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its rally-inspired performance focus and standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,127, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $30,102 average.
• It adds a more refined, still performance-focused take on the same formula.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it’s cheaper and still delivers the STI experience you’re after. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer example, the 2021 is the secondary path for buyers who want to stay in the STI family with a higher-priced alternative.
