Used 2020 Subaru WRX STI for Sale nearFort Lauderdale, FL

How much does the 2020 Subaru WRX STI cost?

Prices have softened 3.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 373 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of used examples to compare.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Subaru WRX STI earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It comes across as a rally-inspired performance sedan with standard all-wheel drive, a turbocharged engine, and a manual transmission that supports its enthusiast focus. The trade-offs are that its technology feels outdated and the cabin is fairly Spartan, so you should expect a car that prioritizes driving feel over modern polish.

The model’s 34.3% good and great deal rate suggests there are still worthwhile listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The STI’s appeal is rooted in a simple, durable-feeling formula: a turbocharged boxer engine, standard all-wheel drive, and a manual transmission. CarGurus’ test-drive notes also describe it as likely to hold up to long-term abuse, which fits its purpose as a performance sedan built for enthusiastic use.

Its performance hardware and straightforward cabin layout can be positives for ownership durability, but the car’s age means you should pay close attention to wear, modifications, and maintenance history. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is finding an example that has been driven hard without being properly cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Subaru WRX STI?

At 67.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars that may have been modified or driven aggressively. Focus on signs of abuse, uneven wear, and any evidence that maintenance has been skipped. Because this model is performance-oriented, condition matters more than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is fairly Spartan, but the Series.White adds model-specific Ceramic White paint, matte bronze BBS 19-inch wheels, silver brake calipers, Crystal Black Silica exterior mirrors and side badging, matte black rear badging, and a model-specific grille. It also includes Recaro front seats with eight-way power adjustment for the driver and Ultrasuede upholstery with Carbon Black leather bolsters.
• Powertrain: The 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer-four makes 310 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque, and the STI is available only with a six-speed manual. Its AWD system includes torque vectoring and Subaru’s Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential.
• Safety package: The STI does not get EyeSight driver-assistance tech, which means features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist are not available with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: Subaru’s Starlink system includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio compatibility, and two front USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA fuel-economy ratings are 19 mpg combined, 16 mpg city, and 22 mpg highway.

Which 2020 Subaru WRX STI trim should I buy?

The 2020 Subaru WRX STI is offered in 2 trim levels: WRX STI and WRX STI Limited.

Here's the short version:

• WRX STI: This is the one to target if you want the core STI experience at the lower entry price. It gives you the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, standard all-wheel drive, and the performance-first character that defines the car.
• WRX STI Limited: This is the better choice if you want more creature comforts and are willing to pay more for them. It adds a more upscale feel without changing the STI’s basic mission, so it suits you best if you want the performance hardware with a little more everyday livability.

The STI does not get EyeSight driver-assistance tech, since those features are not available with the manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru WRX STI?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 373 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,495, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI's resale value?

The current average of $29,841 sits slightly below last year's $30,898.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, the softer trend means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the car has been modified or kept stock. Clean, well-documented examples should still draw interest because this model has a strong enthusiast following.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX STI safe?

The 2020 Subaru WRX STI earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in all crash tests except the driver’s side frontal test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The STI does not get the EyeSight driver-assistance suite, so it misses out on forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. That absence is tied to the manual transmission, so safety tech is a clear trade-off if you want this car’s enthusiast-focused setup.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru WRX STI or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the rally-inspired formula, standard all-wheel drive, and manual-transmission enthusiast appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,110, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,841 average.
• It is a more focused, old-school performance sedan with a sharper lifestyle-oriented character.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong enthusiast appeal and a healthy deal rate. If you are willing to spend more for a newer nearby alternative, the 2021 is the path to consider, but price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2020 and shop for a clean, well-kept example.
