Used 2020 Subaru WRX for Sale nearAustin, TX

How much does the 2020 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 4.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 648 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated car with an expert rating of 8.33/10. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the WRX for its turbo power, handling, and comfort, especially as a daily driver. The standard all-wheel drive and manual transmission help it feel engaging, while the practical sedan layout keeps it usable for everyday driving. The main trade-offs are outdated technology and some interior quality complaints, which matter more if you want a polished cabin experience.

With its performance-first personality and everyday usability, it fits you best if you want a spirited commuter rather than a luxury-leaning sport sedan. The market also shows 32.4% good or great deals, so there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many people feel good about living with over time, especially because it delivers the kind of performance and driving enjoyment they expect from a WRX. The expert assessment also emphasizes the car’s durable, confidence-inspiring all-wheel-drive hardware and its ability to work as a daily driver without losing its character.

You should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition, because a used performance sedan can hide harder use than a typical commuter car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Subaru WRX?

At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a performance sedan like this, since suspension, tires, brakes, and drivetrain wear can tell you a lot about how the car was driven. Focus on signs of abuse, uneven wear, and any evidence that the car has been modified or poorly maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, power front-and-rear windows, Bluetooth, satellite radio, two USB ports, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Premium adds 18-inch wheels, halogen fog lights, steering-responsive auto-on/off headlights, heated front seats, a power moonroof, and a larger 7-inch touchscreen. The Limited adds leather upholstery, push-button start, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter boxer-four with 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It comes with symmetrical all-wheel drive and a standard six-speed manual transmission, and a CVT is also available.
• Safety package: EyeSight is the available driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse automatic emergency braking are also available, but EyeSight is optional on the WRX.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 6.5 inches, and a 7-inch touchscreen is available. Both versions include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual returns 21 mpg city, 27 highway, 23 combined, while the CVT returns 18 mpg city, 24 highway, 21 combined.

Which 2020 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Subaru WRX is offered in 3 trim levels: Base, Premium, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the value play if you want the WRX experience at the lowest entry point. You still get the core formula: standard all-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and the 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the equipment that makes the car feel more complete, including heated front seats, a power moonroof, a larger 7-inch touchscreen, and upgraded lighting.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most comfort-focused WRX short of stepping into a more specialized version. Leather upholstery, push-button start, and the power-adjustable driver’s seat make it the most upscale of the standard trims.

EyeSight is optional on the WRX, so if driver assistance matters to you, make sure the specific car you’re considering has it equipped.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 648 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,974, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $21,067 sits slightly below last year's $22,110.

That price movement suggests the WRX has softened a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history rather than just the badge alone. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the car’s enthusiast appeal remains strong.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2020 Subaru WRX earns a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The available EyeSight suite includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and reverse automatic emergency braking are also available. Because EyeSight is optional rather than standard, you should verify that any used WRX you’re considering has the safety equipment you want.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends standard all-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and everyday usability in a performance sedan package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,614, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,067 average.
• It adds a more refined take on the same sports-sedan formula.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it delivers the core WRX experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the secondary path to consider.
