Used 2020 RAM 2500 for Sale nearPhoenix, AZ

How much does the 2020 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,499 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and conditions.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 2500 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable ride, and impressive interior features. The user feedback also points to strong towing capability and a reliable Cummins diesel engine, which fits the truck’s heavy-duty mission well.

The main trade-offs are its sluggish performance and weaker fuel economy compared with some rivals. Even so, the overview makes clear that this truck is aimed at buyers who want serious work capability with a more refined, upscale cabin than a typical heavy-duty pickup.

The market still shows 33.3% good or great deals, which means you can find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, with praise for the Cummins diesel engine and the truck’s ability to handle towing duties with confidence. That same feedback also suggests owners see it as a dependable heavy-duty truck they can count on for demanding use.

The expert driving notes reinforce that sense of durability, especially in the way the truck is built to handle repeated hauling and braking under load. The diesel’s exhaust brake also helps reduce wear during heavy towing, which is a practical ownership advantage.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic toughness and more about how hard the truck was worked before you buy it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 2500?

At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, frame, and undercarriage. Because this is a heavy-duty truck, condition matters as much as mileage, especially if the truck was used for towing or jobsite duty.

Pay close attention to signs of wear in the cabin and evidence of hard use in the drivetrain and suspension. If a listing looks especially clean, confirm that the truck’s equipment and condition match the seller’s description before moving forward.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The truck’s six trim levels range from more work-focused versions to upper trims with very upscale materials, chrome accents, LED headlights, and an optional 12-inch vertical touchscreen. Base-trim trucks are much simpler, so you should compare cabin finish and tech carefully if you want the more luxurious feel this model is known for.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque or a 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The gas V8 is the stronger choice for payload, while the diesel is the better pick if towing is your priority.
• Safety package: Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, and forward emergency braking. That means you should verify exactly which safety features are installed on the truck you’re considering.
• Infotainment: A 5-inch touchscreen is standard, but the 8.4-inch Uconnect system is the better everyday choice, and the 12-inch display adds a much more useful interface with trailer tools and camera views. The system is quick and logical, and the larger screen is especially helpful in a truck this size.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA doesn’t rate heavy-duty trucks for fuel economy, but the diesel test truck averaged close to 19 mpg over 515 mostly highway miles.

Which 2020 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, Power Wagon, and the other trims explicitly referenced in the model-year content.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the most work-focused starting point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to use the truck primarily as a tool. You give up the richer cabin materials and high-end tech that define the upper trims.
• Laramie Longhorn: This trim is a strong choice if you want a more upscale interior without going all the way to the top. The content points to very good materials and fit and finish, making it a compelling middle ground for comfort-focused buyers.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for shoppers who want the full luxury experience. It brings the most impressive cabin presentation, premium materials, and the kind of high-end feel that makes the truck stand out from other heavy-duty pickups.
• Power Wagon: This is the trim to choose if you want the truck’s off-road character. It is the most specialized option in the lineup and suits buyers who want capability beyond standard hauling and towing.

The safety content notes that most driver assists are optional, so you should confirm which features are included on the specific trim you’re shopping.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 2500?

The market looks moderately favorable for selective buyers right now.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,499 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,070, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $38,070 sits slightly below last year's $41,585.

That price movement suggests the truck has become more accessible to used buyers, which can help demand in the near term. For a future seller, the current softness means you may not see the same pricing strength that existed a year ago.

Even so, the truck’s strong reputation for capability, luxury, and owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Well-equipped heavy-duty trucks with broad appeal often hold attention better than more specialized vehicles.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 safe?

The Ram 2500 will not be rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, and forward emergency braking. That means safety equipment can vary a lot by truck, so you should verify the exact feature set before you buy.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its upscale cabin, strong towing capability, and top-tier technology.

The bottom line: The 2020 is a strong pick if you want a heavy-duty truck that feels more luxurious and innovative than most rivals. If you’re price-sensitive, you can still find good value in the market, but you should be selective about condition and equipment because accident history is common enough to warrant extra caution.
