Used 2020 Nissan Rogue for Sale nearHartford, CT

How much does the 2020 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 7.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,870 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, cargo space, gas mileage, and everyday driving experience. The Rogue also comes across as a practical, feature-rich crossover that fits well if you want a mainstream SUV with useful packaging and easy day-to-day livability.

The trade-offs are clear: experts call out poor value for money, sluggish performance, and unintuitive technology. That makes it a better fit if you prioritize comfort and convenience over driving excitement or the newest interface.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to a dependable, comfortable ownership experience, with many drivers highlighting the Rogue’s everyday usefulness, cargo space, and gas mileage.

The expert review reinforces that sense of durability-by-utility, noting that the Rogue is built around a simple single-engine setup and a familiar, mainstream formula. It also emphasizes that the CVT does a good job of making the most of the available power in routine driving.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright complexity and more about whether the vehicle’s age-related compromises and prior use have been managed well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible cosmetic wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and how well the technology and driver-assistance features work in real use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Available in S, SV, and SL trim levels with a single engine and transmission combination and a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The interior styling and materials are more dated than the exterior, and the SL trim’s 19-inch aluminum wheels help the Rogue look more appealing.
• Powertrain: The Rogue uses a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. It is adequate for everyday driving, but acceleration can feel weak when merging, passing, or climbing grades.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for the front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included, while surround-view camera and ProPilot Assist adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability are optional.
• Infotainment: Every Rogue includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a hands-free text messaging assistant. Higher trims can add SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation with door-to-door assistance via smartphone app, Bose premium audio, and NissanConnect Services with remote start and door lock control.
• Fuel efficiency: During testing, the Rogue managed no better than 24.9 mpg on a mixed-driving loop, and the EPA expectation for FWD versions is 29 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2020 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Rogue lineup, and it gives you the core package of standard safety and infotainment features without pushing the price up. If you want the lowest-cost path into the model, this is the trim to start with.
• SV: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it sits in the middle of the lineup and should balance equipment and price well. It makes the Rogue feel more complete without requiring you to jump all the way to the top trim.
• SL: This is the most upscale version and is the one to choose if you want the Rogue’s most polished presentation, including the 19-inch wheels noted in the review. It suits you best if appearance and added equipment matter more than keeping the purchase as affordable as possible.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, so you get the core driver-assistance package even on the lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,870 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,959, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $14,959 sits slightly below last year's $16,118.

That decline suggests the Rogue has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. The current market also shows that shoppers are still responding to the model’s practical packaging and value-oriented positioning.

If you own one and keep it in good condition, the combination of broad appeal and steady demand can help support resale performance. A lower entry price today can also make it easier to stay competitive when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, and IIHS does not award it a Top Safety Pick designation.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for the front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included, while surround-view camera and ProPilot Assist adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability are optional.

The main caveat is the Rogue’s crash-test performance, including a three-star driver rating in a frontal-impact collision from NHTSA and IIHS concerns about headlights and front-passenger protection.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The outgoing model is being sold with attractive discounts while the redesigned 2021 version approaches.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,998, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $14,959 average.
• It brings a full redesign with a better ride and more premium interior materials.

The bottom line: If you want the lowest purchase price and are comfortable with an older design, the 2020 is the value play. If you can stretch your budget, the 2021 is the better long-term choice for refinement and overall appeal.
