Used 2020 Nissan Frontier for Sale near Colorado

How much does the 2020 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 6.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 896 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners commonly praise its comfortable ride, handling, and power, and they also appreciate the straightforward, no-frills design. The Frontier’s appeal is strongest if you want a simple pickup with honest capability and a rugged personality.

The trade-offs are clear: its technology is outdated, and the truck’s age shows in its overall design and equipment. The overview also points to advanced safety features not being standard and poor value for money.

Good and great deals account for 30.4% of listings, so you can still find some attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a comfortable, dependable-feeling truck that many buyers have found easy to live with over time. It also highlights the Frontier’s straightforward design, which often appeals to shoppers who want something simple and trouble-free.

The test-drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the truck as solidly built, with remarkable solidity and no squeaks or rattles over rough roads. The cost-effectiveness notes also frame it as a truck that can make sense for buyers who want a lower-priced midsize pickup.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that age-related wear and outdated equipment can matter more here than on newer rivals, so condition and maintenance history deserve extra attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Frontier?

At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a truck with higher mileage or visible cosmetic wear. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior body repair, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Frontier is offered in King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, with S, SV, and PRO-4X trims. Base-trim trucks are the most stripped-down, while the PRO-4X adds a tube-style roof rack, unique 16-inch alloy wheels, knobby white-letter tires, a standard spray-in bedliner, and bedside graphics.
• Powertrain: The truck uses a 3.8-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, and the setup is described as smooth, refined, and strong off the line.
• Safety package: The Frontier includes a reversing camera, antilock brakes, traction control, and stability control. Advanced driver-assistance features are not standard.
• Infotainment: The PRO-4X’s touchscreen measures 5.8 inches and includes NissanConnect Apps, satellite radio, navigation, voice recognition, and a 10-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system. It does not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck’s combined fuel-economy estimate is 19 mpg, and the test loop returned 19.3 mpg.

Which 2020 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Frontier is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, PRO-4X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the Frontier lineup, but it is also the most basic version of the truck.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more flexibility, including available packages such as the Value Truck Package, Midnight Edition Package, Special Edition Package, and Utility Package.
• PRO-4X: This is the trim to choose if you want the most rugged setup, with off-road shocks, a more distinctive appearance, and the most equipment mentioned in the test-drive notes.

The safety content makes clear that the Frontier’s driver-assistance equipment is limited, so don’t expect a modern safety package even on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Frontier?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 896 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,804, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $20,804 sits slightly below last year's $22,296.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier has already moved down from its prior level, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a truck bought at the right price now may hold its appeal better if it stays clean, well maintained, and accident-free.

Because the model has a straightforward reputation and a loyal audience for simple pickups, condition will matter a lot when it comes time to sell. A well-kept example should be easier to market than one with visible wear or a questionable history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2020 Nissan Frontier earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a three-star rating for the driver in frontal impact, a two-star rating for the front passenger in frontal impact, and a three-star rollover resistance rating with RWD. It also earns a marginal rating in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test and a poor rating for headlights.

It earns a 1/10 safety score from our experts.

The Frontier’s standard safety equipment is limited to a reversing camera, antilock brakes, traction control, and stability control. Advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, which is a major drawback for used buyers comparing it with newer rivals.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The year’s standout change is the brand-new engine and transmission, which give the truck a much stronger powertrain than its older design would suggest.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest version of this generation’s Frontier formula, the 2020 model is the one to target because it combines the updated powertrain with the same simple, rugged character. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still shop nearby years, but the 2020 stands out for buyers who care most about the new engine and transmission.
