How much does the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC cost?

Prices have softened 9.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,882 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 from owners, and the expert rating is 7.3/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the GLC for its luxury features, quick acceleration, comfort, and all-wheel drive capability for winter driving. The overall package also comes through as a strong value proposition, with broad appeal for shoppers who want a premium badge without giving up everyday usability.

The main trade-offs are the GLC 300 performance and the cramped back seat. In practical terms, that means you should like this model most if you want a polished compact luxury crossover for daily driving, suburban use, and all-weather confidence. Good and great deals account for 33.4% of listings, so there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on its comfort, value for money, and all-wheel drive capability for winter driving. The expert evaluation also points to a polished, well-rounded character that fits the GLC’s suburban mission, which supports the case for trouble-free ownership when the vehicle has been maintained properly.

The ownership risk for used buyers is mostly about condition and maintenance history, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters more than blind confidence in the badge.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, electronics, and interior condition. Because this model is positioned as a premium compact crossover, you’ll want to make sure the features you care about are present and functioning as expected. If you’re comparing multiple listings, focus on how well each one has been maintained rather than just the asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLC 300 is the mass-market model and lacks the visual drama of the AMG versions, while the Coupe adds a fastback roof and the AMG models bring wider tires, a vertical-bar grille, and a lower stance.
• Powertrain: The GLC 300 uses a turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic and either rear-wheel drive or 4Matic all-wheel drive; the Coupe comes standard with 4Matic.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes Exit Warning Assist, which uses rear radar sensors to warn of approaching cyclists or cars after shutdown, along with Pre-Safe Sound and Predictive Brake Priming.
• Infotainment: A standard 10.3-inch touchscreen is included, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a 12.3-inch display can replace the analog gauges and central display in the instrument cluster.

Which 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC trim should I buy?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered in 4 trim levels: GLC 300, GLC 300 Coupe, AMG GLC 43, AMG GLC 63.

Here's the short version:

• GLC 300: This is the best-value choice if you want the core luxury experience, standard MBUX, heated front seats, LED headlights, and the broadest everyday appeal without stepping into AMG pricing.
• GLC 300 Coupe: Choose this if you want the same basic formula with a more distinctive fastback shape and standard 4Matic all-wheel drive.
• AMG GLC 43: This is the performance-oriented step up, with a much stronger engine and a more exciting driving character for buyers who want speed and presence.
• AMG GLC 63: Pick this only if you want the most extreme performance and are willing to pay for it.

The standard safety package includes Exit Warning Assist, plus Pre-Safe Sound and Predictive Brake Priming.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,882 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,749, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $22,749 sits slightly below last year's $24,998.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right entry point. A softer market today can also make it easier to find a well-equipped example without paying peak pricing.

If demand stays steady, a used GLC bought near the current average may hold up better than one purchased at the top of the range. Strong equipment, clean history, and good condition should matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC safe?

The GLC was named a 2019 Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave it five-star ratings in all crash tests.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Exit Warning Assist, which warns occupants if a cyclist or car is approaching after shutdown, along with Pre-Safe Sound and Predictive Brake Priming. That gives the GLC a strong active-safety story for everyday use.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 adds a standard 10.3-inch touchscreen and Exit Warning Assist.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $25,682, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $22,749 average.
• It adds a more modern compact luxury SUV presentation with upscale cabin, cutting-edge infotainment and safety technology, and athletic yet comfortable driving dynamics.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and solid safety. If you’re willing to spend more for the next model year’s broader refinement and updated positioning, the 2021 is the better upgrade path.
