How much does the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB cost?

Prices have softened 11.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 536 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB earns a 4.1/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its great design, premium features, and versatility, and they also like its comfortable size and fuel efficiency. The GLB’s practical packaging and roomy feel line up with its role as a utility-first small luxury SUV, especially for buyers who want a compact Mercedes with a strong feature set.

The trade-offs are that the ride can feel a bit rough and some interior materials may not fully match the premium image. The expert review also points to weak brakes and notes that desirable features can push the price up significantly.

With 37.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB reliable?

Owners rate it 4.1/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the GLB’s overall design, versatility, and fuel efficiency, alongside comments that suggest it can be a car you can count on day to day.

The expert review also describes the GLB as a practical, thoughtfully engineered small SUV with a strong technology package and a relaxed, usable character. That combination supports the idea that it should be a sensible long-term companion if you keep up with maintenance and buy a well-kept example.

The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs a bit.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a poorly maintained example with expensive options and deferred upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on brakes, ride quality, and interior condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect your satisfaction. It also makes sense to compare option content closely, because the GLB’s desirability can rise quickly with packages and equipment.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLB 250 and GLB 250 4Matic are the two specification levels mentioned, and the base setup is more stripped down than the better-equipped versions. The Premium Package adds blind-spot warning, keyless entry and engine start, and larger twin 10.25-inch displays, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps.
• Powertrain: A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, while 4Matic AWD is optional and adds a 50:50 power split in Off-Road mode.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a driver monitoring system, backup camera, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and Pre-Safe front collision preparation. The optional Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, evasive steering assistance, automatic emergency stop assistance, and additional Pre-Safe enhancements.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 7-inch infotainment and instrumentation screen, while the Premium Package upgrades to twin 10.25-inch displays under one piece of glass. MBUX includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and natural voice recognition, and the Multimedia Package adds navigation with augmented video.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test loop returned 21.4 mpg, and the EPA estimate cited in testing was 26 mpg.

Which 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB trim should I buy?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB is offered in 2 trim levels: GLB 250 and GLB 250 4Matic.

Here's the short version:

• GLB 250: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the GLB’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, MBUX infotainment, and the GLB’s practical packaging, but you should budget for the packages that unlock the best tech and convenience features.
• GLB 250 4Matic: This is the better choice if you want the added traction of AWD and the more confident all-weather setup. It suits buyers who value the GLB’s utility and want the more complete version of the SUV’s capability, especially if you expect to drive in poor weather.

The optional Driver Assistance Package is the key safety-package upgrade to look for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 536 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,006, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB's resale value?

The current average of $20,006 sits slightly below last year's $22,560.

That price movement suggests the GLB has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. If you purchase near the current market average or below it, you reduce the risk of taking the steepest early hit. A well-optioned, clean-history example should be easier to resell than one with a rough condition story or a weak equipment mix.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB safe?

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB does not have published crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS in the source data here.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a driver monitoring system, backup camera, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and Pre-Safe front collision preparation. The optional Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, evasive steering assistance, automatic emergency stop assistance, and extra Pre-Safe functions. Blind-spot monitoring with Exit Warning Assist and second-row side-impact airbags are also available.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its practical, utility-first packaging and strong technology.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,667, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,006 average.
• It adds an optional third row that raises seating capacity to seven.

The bottom line: Buy the 2020 if you want the better value and are focused on price, practicality, and a strong feature set. Move to the 2021 if you need the extra seating flexibility and are willing to pay more for it.
