How much does the 2020 BMW X1 cost?

Is the 2020 BMW X1 a good car?

Yes — owners give it 4.6/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. Reviewers commonly praise its power, comfortable driving experience, good handling, technology, and safety features. Even so, some owners note concerns about interior quality, ride comfort, and electronics, so it’s best viewed as a strong choice if those tradeoffs fit what you want. With 39.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 BMW X1 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review feedback points to a vehicle many owners feel they can count on, with repeated praise for its dependable performance, comfortable daily use, and overall ownership experience. That said, some buyers do flag interior and electronics concerns, so long-term ownership risk is more about condition and upkeep than broad reliability red flags.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW X1?

At 70.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, electronics, and interior wear, since those are the areas where condition differences can matter most. Focus on how the vehicle presents in person, because a clean-looking listing is not the same as a clean history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW X1?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 476 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.63% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,761, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW X1's resale value?

The current average of $18,198 sits slightly below last year's $19,701.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well you preserve the vehicle. If you keep mileage reasonable, maintain service records, and avoid accident history, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Strong condition matters even more when the market has already moved down.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X1 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used BMW X1 with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price than a year ago, the 2020 is a sensible place to start. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than the cheapest one.
