Used 2020 Lincoln Aviator for Sale near Tupelo, MS
Lincoln re-commits to true luxury with the Aviator, but will need this new midsize to stand out in the 3-row luxury SUV crowd.
The heyday for Lincoln was more than a half-century ago. Those postwar years of prosperity and optimism were the perfect time for cars like the Continental and others. They delivered comfort and luxury, wrapped in midcentury modern styling. Even as recently as the 1990s, Lincoln was still a popular brand, riding the SUV craze with its Navigator.
But after the turn of the century, Lincoln lost its ability to create new designs and looked inward and backward. Sure, retro-themed cars like the redesigned Mustang, PT Cruiser, and Chevy HHR had turned some heads, but none of those came from luxury brands. The BMWs and Mercedes of the world were all looking forward and pushing the envelope for contemporary automotive design. Meanwhile, Lincoln offered the MKX, which was based on the Ford Edge and featured ’66 Continental styling. Neat in a vacuum, but off-base compared to the modern luxury market.
This experimental phase with various retro looks coincided with the move to the MK-# alphabet-soup naming convention and big improvements in the Ford lineup, where top-end trims of the Fusion overlapped with an entry-level trim of the MKZ. The combination left Lincoln a confusing, anonymous afterthought in the modern luxury game.
But Lincoln is finally ready to change all that. It has a new cohesive design language, its focus is once again on luxury, and the three-letter naming convention that never meant anything to anyone other than Lincoln marketers is gone. The brand led with the 2017 Continental and 2018 Navigator, which are each impressive in their own right. But the company's lineup is growing and now includes the all-new 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Named after a luxury variant of the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, this new Aviator is also based on the contemporary Explorer platform, but it's a luxury vehicle in its own right.
Much of the success of the Lincoln brand may hinge on this midsize, 3-row luxury SUV, so you need to consider its competition, such as the Audi Q7, Infiniti QX60, and all-new Cadillac XT6. Read on to learn if Lincoln’s take on luxury will stand out in a crowded competitive field.

(31 reviews)3 areas I evaluated was looks , features and performance. The cars styling is very nice. I like the big grill in the front. The body lines pulls your eyes to the car with nicely done chrome accents. The interior is loaded down with amenities that you expect in a vehicle of this quality. This Aviator is a Reserve with comfort package 3, Technology package and effects package. I choose the Aviator because it also has the air ride suspension where the Nautilus and Corsair did not. The seats are comfortable as I have drove it already 1,200 miles to get it home from the dealership I bought it from. The dynamic cruise control is very impressive and used it almost non stop. The technology in this vehicle is first class and works well with voice commands. Performance is not lacking in this vehicle. There are several drive modes so you can figure out what suits you. The ecite mode produces the most horsepower but eco and normal don’t disappoint. It handles great and the air ride makes this car pleasant. I would recommend this vehicle to family.
I been a Ford fan (escape & explorer) but had to get a rental for an bit and drove an Aviator now I am hooked. The luxury options , space and handling of the Aviator left no comparison.
Great features. This is the highest level trim. Doing some research the reliability for 2020 Aviators is low. It appears that was the first year the car was sold. Decided to pursue a 2021 model.
Aviators are great, just not this specific one. Clearly repainted on several if not most body panels and has had a new engine installed already. Could have still been interested if price would be reflective of that. The massive rattle under it at idle is crazy as well. The cR fax only shows a front bumper replacement so it is clearly wrong. It also had a scratch the entire length of passenger side that was not noticed in walk around.....still no change in price. Sorry just being.honest on the particular unit I looked at. Black, black label with every option.
We were delighted with the purchase of the Lincoln Aviator. We enjoy the large sunroof, seating for seven (heated and cooled seats in second row), and the adaptive cruise control. The vehicle helps steer itself and adjusts speeds not only when coming up on other vehicles, but changes the speed when speed limits change. Very comfortable ride and is very responsive with the twin turbo engine. It is a well designed vehicle!
