At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. That softer pricing suggests the NX is in a relatively buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you’re purchasing now and planning to resell later. The model’s strong owner satisfaction should also help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,524, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,784 average.
• It adds a more refined pre-redesign package with stylish looks and a high-quality cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction remains high. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a slightly fresher feel, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
