Is the 2020 Lexus NX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Lexus NX earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxury features, interior quality, and technology, with Apple CarPlay standing out as a welcome addition. It also fits well if you want a compact luxury SUV that emphasizes style, comfort, and efficiency over maximum space or driving excitement. With 38.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive buying opportunities.

Is the 2020 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review feedback also emphasizes reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, which aligns with the NX’s reputation for long-term confidence. Buyers who want a used luxury SUV they can count on should find that reassuring. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about the NX’s core durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus NX?

At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually strong or the vehicle has higher mileage. Focus your condition check on the cabin, electronics, and overall maintenance record, since those areas matter most when you’re buying a used luxury SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, where you can find value if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,062 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,590, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $26,133 sits slightly below last year's $26,859.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, a well-kept NX with strong documentation should hold up better than one with accident history or visible wear. Demand should remain supported by the model’s reputation for comfort, style, and owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,254, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,133 average.
• It keeps the NX’s stylish design while adding a quieter, more refined-feeling cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better secondary path for shoppers who want a fresher example and can stretch their budget.
