Summary
With 1,070 currently listed for sale and an average price of $26,143, 37.9% of 2020 Lexus NX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Lexus NX 4.8 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2020 Lexus NX stands out for the same reasons the model line has long appealed to buyers: distinctive styling, a luxury feel, and a strong reputation for reliability. Lexus positioned the NX as a compact crossover with an edgy look and a more youthful character than the brand’s larger SUVs, and that personality remains a big part of its appeal. It also benefits from Lexus’ long-running emphasis on dependability, which is one of the NX’s clearest strengths.
For 2020, the NX’s appeal is less about dramatic change and more about the way it packages comfort, technology, and efficiency. The model line’s hybrid versions are a highlight, and the NX has also earned praise for its fuel economy and high-quality interior. Owners commonly point to the cabin’s upscale feel and the inclusion of Apple CarPlay as especially welcome features. At the same time, many desirable items are still tied to option packs, so the NX can feel less generous than some shoppers might expect.
There are trade-offs, though. The NX is not the most rewarding vehicle to drive, and it is not the most practical choice in its class. Some buyers may also find the cabin size limiting, especially if they need more room for larger occupants. Even so, the 2020 Lexus NX remains appealing as a compact luxury SUV that emphasizes style, efficiency, and long-term dependability over outright space or driving excitement.

Great vehicle! I love it! I would just like if it were a little bigger as my so is 6’1 and only 17… but that’s the only downside. It had many safety features, car play, great MPG. I’m very happy with it!

How much does the 2020 Lexus NX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $26,133 |
| Year-Round Low | $25,590 |
| Year-Round High | $27,291 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $26,859 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −2.70% |
Prices have softened 2.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,062 listings available, which suggests you have a solid pool of used NX options to compare.
Is the 2020 Lexus NX a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Lexus NX earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxury features, interior quality, and technology, with Apple CarPlay standing out as a welcome addition. It also fits well if you want a compact luxury SUV that emphasizes style, comfort, and efficiency over maximum space or driving excitement. With 38.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive buying opportunities.
Is the 2020 Lexus NX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review feedback also emphasizes reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, which aligns with the NX’s reputation for long-term confidence. Buyers who want a used luxury SUV they can count on should find that reassuring. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about the NX’s core durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus NX?
At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually strong or the vehicle has higher mileage. Focus your condition check on the cabin, electronics, and overall maintenance record, since those areas matter most when you’re buying a used luxury SUV.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus NX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, where you can find value if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,062 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.70% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 66.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,590, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Lexus NX's resale value?
The current average of $26,133 sits slightly below last year's $26,859.
That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, a well-kept NX with strong documentation should hold up better than one with accident history or visible wear. Demand should remain supported by the model’s reputation for comfort, style, and owner satisfaction.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Lexus NX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.70% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $28,254, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,133 average.
- It keeps the NX’s stylish design while adding a quieter, more refined-feeling cabin.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better secondary path for shoppers who want a fresher example and can stretch their budget.
