Used 2020 Lexus GX for Sale nearFort Lauderdale, FL

How much does the 2020 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 5.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 814 listings available, which suggests a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Lexus GX earns a 5/5 user rating, and our experts give it 7.5/10 overall. The expert test drive score is 7.5/10, with Performance standing out at 9/10.

The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its robust build, off-road capability, luxurious interior, ride quality, and reliability. In practical terms, that lines up well with the GX’s role as a luxury SUV for you if you value toughness and comfort more than the latest tech.

The main trade-offs are outdated technology and uninspired styling. Even so, the GX’s identity is clear: it is built for buyers who want a capable, old-school luxury SUV rather than a trendier crossover.

Good and great deals account for 39.2% of listings, so there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as robust, reliable, and a vehicle they can count on, especially after high mileage. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used SUV that feels durable over the long haul.

The GX’s dependability also shows up in the way it is engineered for real-world use, with a strong build and a reputation for lasting ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the core hardware and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Lexus GX?

At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important here, since condition can vary a lot from one used example to another.

Focus on signs of wear that match the vehicle’s age and mileage, and pay close attention to how the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain feel during a test drive. Because this model is valued for durability and capability, you want to make sure the specific example you choose still reflects those strengths.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 460 is the best-value choice because it already includes 10-way power front seats, leather upholstery, push-button start, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, and an 8-inch touchscreen. The Premium adds rain-sensing windshield wipers, 3-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, LED fog lights, wood and aluminum cabin accents, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and navigation, while the Luxury adds premium leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, self-leveling air suspension, and power-folding/reclining third-row seats.
• Powertrain: The GX 460 uses a 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard 4WD. It is tuned for real-world strength and off-road confidence rather than efficiency.
• Safety package: The Lexus Safety System+ comes standard and includes forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard, and the available surround-view camera adds another layer of confidence.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen, and the system is simpler than many modern setups. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The GX returns 15 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined.

Which 2020 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2020 Lexus GX is offered in 3 trim levels: 460, 460 Premium, and 460 Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• 460: This is the best-value trim because it already comes well equipped with leather upholstery, a power sunroof, push-button start, automatic climate control, and the 8-inch touchscreen. If you want the GX’s core capability without paying for extras you may not need, this is the one to target.
• 460 Premium: This trim adds the most useful comfort and convenience upgrades, including heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, navigation, parking sensors, and 3-zone climate control. It is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale daily driver without jumping to the top trim.
• 460 Luxury: This is the right pick if you want the most comfort-focused GX, with premium leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, self-leveling air suspension, and power-folding/reclining third-row seats. It suits you best if ride comfort and rear-seat flexibility matter more than value.

The Lexus Safety System+ comes standard, along with blind-spot monitoring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 814 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,910, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $36,910 sits slightly below last year's $38,921.

That price movement suggests the GX has softened a bit in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may be steadier if the vehicle is kept in excellent condition and documented well.

Because the GX has strong owner satisfaction and a clear niche, demand should remain supported among shoppers who want capability and durability. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Lexus GX safe?

The 2020 Lexus GX earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+, which includes forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard, and the available surround-view camera adds extra visibility.

The GX also benefits from strong outward visibility, with a high seating position and large windows and mirrors. That said, the safety story is strongest in its standard driver-assistance coverage rather than in any cutting-edge tech advantage.

Should I buy a 2020 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 39.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines fresh styling with old-school off-road capability and a comfortable ride.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,051, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $36,910 average.
• It adds a new Premium Plus Package and acoustic front side glass.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it offers the same core GX character at a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for a slightly updated version, the 2021 is the cleaner next step.
