How much does the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover cost?

Prices have softened 18.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,005 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, luxury, and strong performance, and they also highlight the smooth ride and high-end features. The overview points to cabin space, luxury appointments, power, and capability as the core reasons it stands out. The main trade-offs are unintuitive technology and high repair costs, with poor gas mileage also coming through in owner feedback.

For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a luxury SUV that feels special and can do a lot of things well, but it asks you to accept some ownership complexity. Good and great deals account for 36.8% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to comfort, luxury, and strong performance, while also noting that many owners value the smooth ride and high-end features. The expert performance notes describe the powertrains as capable, with the more efficient engines offering a solid blend of around-town power and highway motivation. The cost-effectiveness commentary also says reliability has been middle-of-the-road, which is worth keeping in mind if you plan to own one for the long haul.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium SUV with complex systems can become expensive if prior maintenance was neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a vehicle with this much technology and luxury equipment. Focus on signs of wear in the cabin, evidence of electrical or infotainment issues, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently. Because repair costs are a known concern, condition and documentation matter more than usual.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard trim includes leather seating, heated power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a WiFi hotspot, and a hands-free tailgate. Higher trims add features such as 20-way front seats, upgraded leather, power-reclining rear seats, semi-aniline leather, quad-zone climate control, massaging front seats, and unique styling touches, so base-trim equipment gaps are worth checking carefully.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, a non-hybrid 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, a turbodiesel V6, a supercharged 5.0-liter V8, and a plug-in hybrid setup. The more efficient choices are the mild-hybrid inline-six and the diesel, while the V8 options deliver the strongest acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes low-speed automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, front-and-rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Available driver aids include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, high-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic-sign recognition, so you should confirm which items are fitted on the exact vehicle you’re considering.
• Infotainment: The system uses two 10-inch screens, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the lower screen handles climate and vehicle settings. It also includes a fully digital instrument panel, and a head-up display is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The plug-in hybrid is rated at 42 MPGe with 19 miles of electric range, and it returns 19 mpg combined once the battery is depleted. The mild-hybrid version returns 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, while the diesel returns 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Which 2020 Land Rover Range Rover trim should I buy?

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover is offered in 4 trim levels: HSE, Autobiography, SVAutobiography Dynamic, and base SWB Standard-Wheelbase model.

Here's the short version:

• base SWB Standard-Wheelbase model: This is the entry point, but it still brings a long list of luxury features, including leather seating, heated power-adjustable front seats, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and the dual-screen infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the Range Rover experience at the lowest starting price.
• HSE: This trim adds 20-way power-adjustable front seats, upgraded perforated leather, heated rear seats, and power-reclining rear seats. It is the best-value choice if you want a noticeable step up in comfort and rear-seat amenities without jumping into the highest-priced trims.
• Autobiography: This trim makes many of the earlier options standard, including semi-aniline leather, quad-zone climate control, heated-and-ventilated front seats, and massaging front seats. It suits you if you want a more indulgent cabin and are willing to pay for it.
• SVAutobiography Dynamic: This is the performance-oriented top trim, with a unique styling treatment and nearly every feature available in the lineup. It is the one to choose if you want the most powerful, most exclusive version.

Safety equipment is strong across the lineup, but some advanced driver aids remain optional, so verify the exact feature set before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,005 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,304, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover's resale value?

The current average of $32,304 sits slightly below last year's $39,798.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be able to protect value better than the average listing. Still, the softer pricing environment means future sellers may need to be more competitive to attract attention.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover safe?

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include low-speed automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, front-and-rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, high-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and a system that helps rear-seat passengers know when it is safe to open the door. The safety package is solid, but some of the more advanced features are optional rather than standard.

Should I buy a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its broad powertrain lineup and strong mix of luxury, capability, and comfort.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $38,597, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $32,304 average.
• It adds a more modern-feeling ownership pitch with updated tech and a broader emphasis on convenience.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter starting point because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2020 and shop for a well-kept example.
