Used 2020 Kia Telluride for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2020 Kia Telluride cost?

Prices have softened 10.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,187 listings available, which gives you a healthy pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2020 Kia Telluride a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Telluride earns a 4.82/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, value for money, and comfortable ride, and they also highlight the impressive features and high safety ratings. That lines up with the overview’s focus on family-friendly space, technology, and amenities, especially if you want a three-row SUV that feels more upscale than its price suggests.

The main trade-off is the irritating transmission, which can feel delayed and inconsistent. The expert notes also point to steering that is slow and handling that leans more comfort-oriented than sporty.

Even so, the Telluride’s combination of roominess and value makes it especially appealing if you want a large family SUV without paying luxury-brand money. Good and great deals account for 37.2% of listings, so there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Kia Telluride reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with many shoppers emphasizing its comfortable ride, spacious cabin, and family-friendly usefulness over the long haul. That kind of praise usually matters most when you want a used SUV you can count on for regular commuting, school runs, and road trips.

The expert notes reinforce that impression with a smooth, creamy ride and strong overall value, which can make ownership feel reassuring even as mileage climbs. Kia also includes a first scheduled maintenance visit on the house, which helps reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability than about whether a specific example has been cared for well and avoided hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Kia Telluride?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, interior wear, and any missing convenience features that matter to you. Focus on condition and equipment level, since the Telluride’s value proposition depends heavily on how well it was optioned and maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Lower trims delete the silver interior accents, simplify the climate controls, and downsize both the dash and instrument-panel screens, while upper trims add a more upscale look and feel.
• Powertrain: You get a single 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic; all-wheel drive is available on every trim.
• Safety package: Every Telluride includes forward-collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and automatic braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, and Safe Exit Assist.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Kia’s UVO link come standard, along with a proximity key; upper trims with navigation add fast voice inputs and online search capability.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg city, 24 highway, and 21 combined, while front-wheel-drive models return 20/26/23.

Which 2020 Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2020 Kia Telluride is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Telluride’s core space, standard safety tech, and standard infotainment without stretching the budget. It makes sense if you want the basics of the SUV’s appeal at the lowest price.
• SX: This is the fully loaded choice, with the richest feature set and the most premium feel. It suits you best if you want the Telluride at its most luxurious and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but some convenience and visibility features remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Telluride?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,187 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,530, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Telluride's resale value?

The current average of $19,530 sits slightly below last year's $21,884.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower baseline, which can help soften depreciation risk if the market stays steady.

The Telluride’s strong value reputation and broad family appeal should help support demand over time. Well-equipped examples in clean condition are likely to hold attention better than stripped-down or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Kia Telluride safe?

The 2020 Kia Telluride is too new to have been crash-tested by NHTSA or IIHS, but it comes with a broad set of standard driver-assistance features.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and automatic braking, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, and Safe Exit Assist. Surround-view cameras and front parking sensors are optional, and the front passenger does not get a knee airbag.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Telluride or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers standout value, spaciousness, and family-friendly appeal in a three-row SUV.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,963, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,530 average.
• It adds a Nightfall Edition package and more LED headlights.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and broad market availability. If you’re willing to pay more for modest updates and a newer model year, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2020.
