Used 2020 Honda Ridgeline for Sale nearFayetteville, NC

How much does the 2020 Honda Ridgeline cost?

Prices have softened 5.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 960 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Honda Ridgeline earns a 4.53/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, quiet cabin, and practical cargo space. The review summary also points to safety technologies and versatile features as recurring positives, and many owners compare it favorably to more expensive models.

The trade-offs are the polarizing design and the unintuitive technology, including software limitations and touchscreen frustrations. For you, that means the Ridgeline makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, everyday truck rather than a traditional work-first pickup.

With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s meaningful market support if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2020 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 4.53/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many buyers valuing the Ridgeline’s comfort and practical usefulness over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Honda’s thoughtful engineering makes daily driving easier and that the truck’s overall package is built for long-term usability.

That said, the technology can be frustrating, so your biggest used-buying risk is less about mechanical durability and more about whether the truck’s electronics and features still work the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Ridgeline?

At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the Ridgeline’s technology can be unintuitive, it also makes sense to test every infotainment and driver-assistance feature before you buy. Focus on overall condition, since the truck’s value depends heavily on whether it still feels as polished as it should.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport, RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition are the trims offered, and the base Sport and RTL are front-wheel drive unless you add all-wheel drive. The RTL-E and Black Edition bring more equipment, including premium interior touches and additional convenience features, so they are the trims to compare if you want the most complete package.
• Powertrain: A 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional on Sport and RTL, standard on RTL-E and Black Edition, and it improves towing and payload while adding traction.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. RTL-E and Black Edition add automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. RTL-E and Black Edition add SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, navigation, and an eight-speaker premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The all-wheel-drive Ridgeline returns 21 mpg combined, and the expert evaluation notes 20.9 mpg on the testing loop.

Which 2020 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it still gets the core Ridgeline formula: the V6, the nine-speed automatic, Honda Sensing, and the standard 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and do not need the extra luxury or convenience features.
• RTL: This trim adds a more upscale feel while staying close to the core value proposition. It is the best-value choice if you want a nicer cabin and the Ridgeline’s comfort without stepping too far up in price.
• RTL-E: This is the sweet spot if you want the most complete mix of comfort, tech, and capability. It adds all-wheel drive as standard, plus navigation, premium audio, and the extra safety features that make daily use easier.
• Black Edition: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped Ridgeline with the strongest visual presence and the same expanded feature set as the RTL-E. It suits you best if you want the top trim and are willing to pay for it.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but the extra blind-spot and rear cross-traffic features are reserved for RTL-E and Black Edition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Ridgeline?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 960 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,290, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $25,737 sits slightly below last year's $27,117.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against a future seller if prices keep easing. On the other hand, the Ridgeline’s practical strengths and broad appeal can help support demand when you eventually resell it. If you buy well now, you may be able to limit depreciation pressure later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2020 Honda Ridgeline earns top marks in all but the small overlap frontal impact test for the front passenger, which results in an "acceptable" score, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives it five-star ratings across the board except for a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. If you move up to RTL-E or Black Edition, you also get automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning.

The main caveat is that the lane-departure warning can feel intrusive, the forward-collision warning can be overly eager, and the adaptive cruise control could be smoother.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda Sensing is standard, and the 2020 update adds an 8.0-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,109, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,737 average.
• It looks more like a traditional truck.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and standard safety tech. If you care more about styling that reads as a truck and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the better fit.
