The Honda Odyssey minivan competes with the Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, Kia Sedona, and Toyota Sienna. For 2020, it reaches its 25th year on the market, and to celebrate that milestone, Honda introduces a special 25th Anniversary package for all trims. The 25th Anniversary package includes a chrome roof rack, side moldings, lower door garnish, chrome rear bumper protector, and illuminated sill plates. Special “25th Anniversary” badging adorns the liftgate, front fenders, and key fob. Other than that, the trim spread is the same as last year, encompassing LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite trims. The base LX comes with 18-inch wheels, a 60/40 split-folding third-row Magic Seat, an 8-way power driver’s seat, seating for 7, keyless start, automatic climate control, a 160-watt audio system with 7 speakers and a subwoofer, rear privacy glass, a 5-inch color infotainment system, and USB charging interfaces. Upper trims include seating for 8, power-sliding doors, tri-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, a moonroof, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, heated and cooled front seats, LED headlights, and an onboard vacuum cleaner. All versions of the Odyssey continue to utilize a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, now with start-stop. Last year, lesser trims got a 6-speed automatic, but for 2020, Honda includes the nicer 10-speed automatic and push-button gearshift as standard equipment. Like most of its cohorts, the Odyssey comes exclusively with front-wheel drive (FWD). Fuel economy across the board measures 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined. A multi-angle reversing camera is standard equipment on the Odyssey. EX trims and above come with Honda Sensing, which bundles forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road-departure mitigation, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard on EX and above trims, while the Elite gets rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Odyssey a Top Safety Pick award last year.
