How much does the 2020 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 16.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,416 listings available, which suggests a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2020 GMC Yukon XL earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows a big, truck-based SUV built around space and capability, with a long-wheelbase layout that gives you more third-row room and more cargo space behind it than the regular Yukon. It also gives you a wide spread of trims and equipment, so you can prioritize family-hauling utility or move up for more luxury. The market still shows 32.1% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes a traditional chassis, solid rear axle, and a design focused on space and capability, which can be appealing if you want a proven, truck-like SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, heavy vehicle like this can be costly to keep in top condition if prior maintenance has been inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Yukon XL?

At 68.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, alignment, suspension feel, and signs of hard use. Because this is a large, truck-based SUV, you should also focus on how well the interior, cargo area, and seating surfaces have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,416 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,321, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $27,323 sits slightly below last year's $32,583.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point today. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation matter more when the market is already pricing in depreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should buy the 2020 if you want the traditional truck-based Yukon XL formula and you find a clean, well-priced example with solid history. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained listing rather than the newest badge.
