How much does the 2020 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 11.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,152 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain a good car?

Generally — the 2020 GMC Terrain earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its comfort, safety features, spacious interior, and economical performance, and many also like the intuitive entertainment system and the more luxurious feel in Denali models. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want a compact SUV with a polished cabin, a comfortable ride, and a useful everyday setup. With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable for daily use, with comfort and safety features that help build confidence over time. The repeated praise for economical performance and the lack of major complaint themes in the summary suggest a generally trouble-free ownership experience for many buyers. For used shoppers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still verify condition and maintenance history before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, signs of repair quality, and whether the interior, electronics, and ride quality match the seller’s description.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,152 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,138, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $17,138 sits slightly below last year's $19,265.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep the vehicle in good condition and avoid overpaying now, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Terrain makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong owner satisfaction and you can find a clean example at a competitive price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a different year may offer a lower entry point, but the 2020 is the better target when you want a balanced mix of value, comfort, and features.
