How much does the 2020 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 11.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,152 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain a good car?

Generally — the 2020 GMC Terrain earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort and safety features, along with its spacious interior and economical performance. Many also like the luxurious feel and intuitive entertainment system, especially in the Denali model. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want a compact SUV with a roomy cabin, a comfortable ride, and a more premium feel than many rivals. The market also shows 32.5% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially around comfort, safety, and everyday usability. That kind of response suggests the Terrain can be a sensible long-term choice if you prioritize a well-rounded used SUV. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the rating itself and more about finding a clean example that has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, since accident history can affect both condition and resale value. Put inspection priority on bodywork, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, then make sure the cabin, electronics, and safety systems all work as expected. Focus on overall condition rather than just mileage, because a clean, well-kept example is likely to be the better buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what to target.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,152 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,033, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $17,033 sits slightly below last year's $19,185.

That decline suggests the Terrain has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it a tougher vehicle for future sellers to command top dollar. If you buy now, the lower entry price may help offset some depreciation risk, but you should still expect resale value to depend heavily on condition and history. Well-kept examples should hold up better than accident-affected or neglected ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and standard equipment in this range. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 stands out as the better all-around pick when you want a well-equipped compact SUV with a softer used-market price.
