Used 2020 Ford F-150 for Sale nearSalinas, CA

How much does the 2020 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 7.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,709 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.72/5, and the expert rating is 8.33/10. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its power, smooth ride, and interior comfort, and they also like the engine performance from the 3.5L EcoBoost and 5.0L V8 options. The truck’s broad usefulness also stands out, since it works well as a commuter, road-trip vehicle, and family hauler.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and the interior materials can feel cheap. That means you should expect a capable, comfortable truck first, and a more upscale cabin only if you shop higher trims.

With 31.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to find a competitive example if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck that feels powerful, smooth, and comfortable over time, which is exactly the kind of day-to-day dependability used buyers want. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the F-150 is built to handle commuting, hauling, and towing without losing its easygoing road manners.

You also get a truck that’s designed around durability, with a cabin that feels ready to take a beating rather than one that’s trying to be delicate. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is finding a neglected example, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every truck you consider, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a close inspection of the cabin, since interior wear and material quality can vary a lot by trim and use. It’s also smart to focus on how the truck was equipped, because the feature spread between trims is wide.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XL is the work-truck starting point with steel wheels, air conditioning, manual locks, and a 2.3-inch driver information display, while the XLT adds 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers and grille, cruise control, SYNC 3, and a WiFi hotspot. Higher trims add more comfort and luxury, but the base trim is notably sparse.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.3-liter V6, a 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. The lineup ranges from everyday use to serious towing and hauling, with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost delivering the most power.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 includes automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Some driver-assistance features are not standard on lower trims.
• Infotainment: The XLT’s 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, enhanced voice recognition, pinch-to-zoom map functionality, and smart-charging USB ports. The XL’s basic setup is much simpler.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbodiesel with rear-wheel drive returns 21 mpg city, 29 highway, 24 combined. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 20 mpg city, 26 highway, 22 combined, while the V8 returns 17 mpg city, 23 highway, 19 combined.

Which 2020 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the most basic work-truck choice, with standard forward automatic emergency braking and the essentials you need for utility-focused use. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and don’t mind a sparse feature set.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds SYNC 3, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a WiFi hotspot, and more exterior polish without jumping too far in price. It’s the trim that most clearly balances everyday usability and equipment.
• Lariat: This is the sweet spot if you want a more comfortable truck, since it adds push-button start, leather-trimmed seats, heated power-folding mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and power heated and cooled front seats. It’s the right pick if you want a nicer cabin without going all the way to luxury-trim pricing.
• King Ranch: This trim leans into a distinctive Western theme with saddle-leather upholstery, special stitching, a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, heated rear seats, and a remote release tailgate. Choose it if you want a more upscale personality and richer interior appointments.
• Platinum: This trim adds chrome badging, body-color bumpers, LED bed lighting and fog lamps, a remote release tailgate, power outlets, ambient lighting, and Multi-Contour Active Motion seats. It suits buyers who want a more premium-feeling truck with standout comfort features.
• Raptor: This is the off-road-focused model, with a wider body, flared fenders, a lifted suspension, Fox Racing Shox with live valve technology, a Terrain Management System, and enhanced skid plates. It’s the choice if off-road capability matters more than luxury.
• Limited: This is the top comfort-oriented trim, with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, premium leather upholstery, a dual-panel moonroof, and satin aluminum exterior details. Buy it if you want the most upscale F-150 experience.

Ford makes forward automatic emergency braking standard, including on the XL, but many other driver-assistance features are bundled into higher trims through Ford Co-Pilot360.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,709 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $28,010, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $28,010 sits slightly below last year's $30,388.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you a better entry point now, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited if prices keep easing. For a seller, the key is to buy well and keep the truck in strong condition so you’re not starting from a weak price base.

Because this model still has broad appeal as a commuter, family hauler, and work truck, demand should remain healthy for clean, well-equipped examples. Trucks with desirable powertrains and strong condition records should be easier to move later than neglected, bare-bones examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2020 Ford F-150 SuperCrew trucks received five-star ratings from NHTSA, while the SuperCab and regular cab managed four-star ratings.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford makes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking standard on the F-150, including the XL trim. Ford Co-Pilot360 adds automatic high beams, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control on higher trims or as available equipment.

One caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, so you need to check trim and equipment carefully. The SuperCrew’s stronger crash-test result also makes cab configuration worth paying attention to if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It balances comfort, capability, and multiple powertrain options in a familiar full-size pickup package.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $26,023, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $28,010 average.
• It’s a familiar, proven pickup with modest updates and broad usefulness.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,425, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $28,010 average.
• It adds a redesigned interior, more technology, and hybrid availability.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better all-around pick if you want a strong mix of value, comfort, and capability without paying more for the redesign that follows. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2019 can save you money, while the 2021 makes sense if you want newer tech and are willing to spend more.
