Used 2020 Ford Expedition for Sale nearManhattan, KS

How much does the 2020 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 14.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,368 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Ford Expedition earns a 4.79/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Form and function and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, luxurious feel, and powerful engine, and they also like the advanced features. The main trade-offs are that it can feel pricey and some drivers wanted better gas mileage. In practical terms, this is a strong fit if you want a full-size SUV that can handle family duty, cargo, and towing without feeling cramped. Good and great deals account for 33.4% of listings, so there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.79/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, especially because it comes across as spacious, dependable, and well suited to family use. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Expedition’s underlying engineering is typically robust, which supports confidence in long-term ownership. Ford Co-Pilot360 adds a useful layer of standard driver assistance, and the model’s strong utility suggests it can be a durable choice if it has been maintained properly.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is paying a premium for a large SUV that may have seen heavy towing or family-hauling use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Ford Expedition?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper report. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear from towing, suspension condition, and signs of hard use. You should also pay close attention to interior condition, since the cabin materials are a known weak point.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower-level Expedition XLT has a lot of hard plastic inside, while the King Ranch and Platinum trims add a more upscale feel but can push prices much higher.
• Powertrain: Every 2020 Expedition uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with a 10-speed automatic, and rear-wheel drive is standard unless you choose the optional 4WD system.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance.
• Infotainment: The Expedition uses an 8-inch touchscreen with Sync 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, FordPass Connect with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, navigation, an available premium Bang & Olufsen sound system, rear-seat entertainment, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation notes an official EPA rating of 19 mpg, and the test vehicle averaged 17.7 mpg.

Which 2020 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2020 Ford Expedition is offered in 3 trim levels: XLT, King Ranch, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, but the cabin’s hard plastic makes it feel less upscale than the higher trims. It makes sense if you want the Expedition’s space and capability at the lowest starting price.
• King Ranch: This trim adds a more distinctive and luxurious cabin with Del Rio leather, special exterior details, and standard adaptive damping suspension. It’s the best-value choice if you want the richest mix of comfort and character.
• Platinum: This is the more conventionally luxurious option, and it suits you if you want the most upscale Expedition experience and are willing to pay for it.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, so you get a strong safety package even before moving up the trim ladder.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,368 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,259, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $26,263 sits slightly below last year's $30,759.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: if you buy well, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The Expedition’s strong utility and broad appeal should still support demand, especially among shoppers who need space and towing ability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.79/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Ford Expedition safe?

The Expedition earns five-star ratings in every NHTSA test plus a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. During testing, the system worked smoothly and subtly, though the lane-departure vibration could sometimes be hard to distinguish from road vibration.

Should I buy a 2020 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.79/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines three-row space, strong towing ability, and standard Ford Co-Pilot360.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,859, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,263 average.
• It remains a strong choice for buyers who want a similarly capable full-size SUV with broad utility.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because prices have softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the secondary path for buyers who prioritize that step up in age over savings.
