How much does the 2020 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 10.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,334 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Durango earns a 4.56/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior, comfort, and smooth driving experience. The user feedback also points to strong towing ability and performance, which fits the Durango’s family-utility-plus-muscle personality. In practice, that means you get a three-row SUV that works well if you want room, capability, and a more engaging feel than many mainstream rivals.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, and the styling can feel uninspired to some shoppers. Even so, the Durango’s mix of space, multiple powertrain choices, and easy-to-use technology makes it appealing if you want a practical SUV with more attitude than most.

With 33.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels spacious, comfortable, and smooth to drive, with many owners also valuing its towing ability and performance. That combination often lines up with dependable everyday use, especially when you want a family vehicle that can handle more than just commuting. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Durango’s straightforward, easy-to-use setup and its strong powertrain lineup, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

If you buy used, the main long-term risk is making sure the vehicle was maintained well, since higher-output versions and heavier-use family SUVs can vary a lot in wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

At 70% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and focus on any signs of prior body damage, repairs, or inconsistent maintenance. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on higher-mileage examples or any listing with a price that looks unusually low. Pay close attention to cabin condition, electronics, and how the drivetrain feels under acceleration and braking.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes with 18-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, manually adjustable front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument panel screen, dual USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a six-speaker stereo. The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a sport-inspired grille, remote start, LED fog lights, dual exhaust, a power rear liftgate, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and satellite radio. The R/T adds rain-sensing wipers, a four-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, memory settings for the driver’s seat and steering wheel, leather-and-suede upholstery, heated front seats, heated rear seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The Citadel adds chrome exterior touches, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, a power moonroof, second-row captain’s chairs with a center console, and premium leather upholstery. The SRT adds a more aggressive front fascia, auto-leveling headlights, 20-inch black wheels, ventilated front seats, and unique leather-and-suede seats with an embossed SRT logo.
• Powertrain: The SXT, GT, and Citadel use a 3.6-liter V6 with 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft, and that engine is also available on the Citadel. The SRT uses a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. All engines use an 8-speed automatic, with rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive depending on trim.
• Safety package: The Durango includes front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. Rear parking sensors are available on the SXT and standard on all other trims, while the R/T, Citadel, and SRT add front- and rear parking sensors. The Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring plus rear cross-path detection are also available.
• Infotainment: The SXT and GT use a 7-inch touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch touchscreen is optional on the GT and standard on all other trims. The system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and higher trims add navigation and SiriusXM Travel Link. The R/T, Citadel, and SRT also include an Alpine premium audio system with nine speakers and a subwoofer, with a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system available.
• Fuel efficiency: The base V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined. With all-wheel drive, it returns 18/25/21 combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 14/22/17, and the SRT returns 13/19/15.

Which 2020 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Durango experience with the V6, a 7-inch touchscreen, and the basic comfort and utility features you need. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra convenience and safety equipment found higher up.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished look, remote start, LED fog lights, a power liftgate, and a better driver’s seat setup without jumping into V8 pricing. If you want a well-equipped daily driver, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Citadel: This is the choice if you want a more upscale feel, with premium leather, a moonroof, and second-row captain’s chairs. It also offers the V8, which makes it a stronger fit if you want luxury-leaning comfort with more power.
• R/T: This trim is for you if you want the V8 experience with a more performance-oriented personality and a richer feature set, including heated seats and navigation. It’s the right middle ground if you want more muscle without going all the way to the top model.
• SRT: This is the enthusiast pick, with the most powerful engine, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and the most aggressive character in the lineup. Choose it if performance matters more to you than fuel economy or everyday value.

The Technology Group package is the key safety add-on to look for, since advanced driver-assistance features are otherwise optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,334 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,775, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $20,775 sits slightly below last year's $23,187.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: a well-kept Durango with desirable equipment and clean history should hold up better than a rougher example. Strong demand for roomy, capable SUVs can still support resale, but condition and trim choice will matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango safe?

The Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing and four-star ratings in all other phases.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango comes with front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. Rear parking sensors are available on the SXT and standard on all other trims, while the R/T, Citadel, and SRT add front- and rear parking sensors. If you want more active safety tech, the Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring plus rear cross-path detection are also available.

The main caveat is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, so you should verify whether a specific used example has the right package before you buy.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines three-row practicality with muscle-car styling and multiple high-horsepower trims.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,664, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,775 average.
• It adds a new infotainment system and the available Tow N Go Package.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and inventory is broad enough to shop selectively. If you care more about newer tech and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the better path; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on clean, well-equipped 2020 listings.
