Used 2020 Dodge Durango for Sale nearDetroit, MI

How much does the 2020 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 9.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,339 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Durango earns a 4.56/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the Durango for its spacious interior, comfort, and smooth driving experience. The user feedback also points to strong towing ability and performance, which fits the Durango’s family-hauler-with-attitude role.

The trade-offs are clear: it gives up some usability versus segment leaders, and the cabin feels a bit dated. That matters most if you want the most modern-feeling three-row SUV, but it matters less if you value style, powertrain variety, and easy-to-use tech.

The Durango’s broad appeal comes from its seven-passenger layout and muscle-car personality, so it works best if you want a practical SUV that still feels distinctive. Good and great deals account for 33.3% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV that many owners are happy to live with over time, especially for family use, comfort, and towing. The expert notes also emphasize that the Durango is built around a straightforward, familiar formula, which can be reassuring if you want a proven setup rather than something experimental.

The Durango’s powertrains and hardware are established, but used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition, especially on higher-mileage examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

At 69.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially if you are considering a higher-trim or V8 model. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, interior wear, and evidence of consistent maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes standard with 18-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, manually adjustable front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument panel screen, dual USB ports, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a six-speaker stereo. The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a sport-inspired grille, remote start, LED fog lights, dual exhaust, a power rear liftgate, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and satellite radio. The R/T adds rain-sensing wipers, a four-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, memory settings for the driver’s seat and power-adjustable tilt-telescoping steering wheel, leather-and-suede upholstery, heated front seats, heated rear seats, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Citadel adds unique chrome exterior touches, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, a power moonroof, second-row captains chairs with a center console, and premium leather upholstery. The SRT adds an aggressive lower front fascia, auto-leveling headlights, 20-inch black wheels, ventilated front seats, and unique leather-and-suede seats with an embossed SRT logo in the seat-back.
• Powertrain: The SXT, GT, and Citadel come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 making 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, and that engine is also available on the Citadel. The SRT gets a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. All engines use an 8-speed automatic, with rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive depending on trim.
• Safety package: The Durango comes with front- and side-impact airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. Rear parking sensors are available on the SXT and standard on all other trims, while the R/T, Citadel, and SRT add front- and rear parking sensors. The Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring plus rear cross-path detection are also available. These driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard.
• Infotainment: The SXT and GT use a 7-inch touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch touchscreen is optional on the GT and standard on all other trims. The system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the larger setup is paired with Dodge’s Uconnect interface. R/T, Citadel, and SRT trims add navigation and SiriusXM Travel Link with real-time traffic and weather updates, plus an Alpine premium audio system with nine speakers and a subwoofer.
• Fuel efficiency: The base V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, 21 combined. With AWD, it returns 18/25/21 combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 14/22/17, and the SRT returns 13/19/15.

Which 2020 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Durango’s core strengths: three-zone climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the standard V6. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and do not need luxury or performance extras.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more polished look and useful convenience upgrades like remote start, LED fog lights, a power liftgate, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. If you want a well-equipped Durango without jumping too far in price, this is the trim to focus on.
• Citadel: This is the comfort-leaning choice, with chrome accents, a moonroof, premium leather, and second-row captains chairs. It suits you best if you want a more upscale family SUV and are willing to pay for it.
• R/T: This is the right pick if you want the V8 experience, stronger acceleration, and a more performance-flavored setup without going all the way to the SRT. It also adds heated seats, memory settings, and the larger touchscreen, making it a strong blend of speed and everyday comfort.
• SRT: This is the enthusiast choice, with the 6.4-liter V8, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and SRT performance pages. Buy this only if you want the most aggressive Durango and are comfortable with the higher running costs.

The safety package remains optional across the lineup, so if driver-assistance tech matters to you, prioritize a Durango equipped with the Technology Group.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,339 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,016, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $21,016 sits slightly below last year's $23,319.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that softer market.

Higher-trim Durangos with desirable equipment may hold appeal better than bare-bones examples, especially if they are well maintained. Strong demand for the model’s mix of space, power, and style should continue to support resale interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango safe?

The Durango earns a four-star rating from NHTSA, with five stars in side crash testing and four stars in all other phases. It earned a score of Moderate for driver’s side small-front overlap testing from IIHS, and Good in all other crash tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango comes with a full set of airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and trailer sway control. The Technology Group package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available. Those features are useful, but they are optional rather than standard.

That optional-only setup is the main safety caveat for used shoppers. If safety tech matters to you, look specifically for a Durango equipped with the right package.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends seven-passenger practicality with muscle-car styling and multiple powertrain choices.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,927, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,016 average.
• It brings a new infotainment system and a more updated cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you care more about newer cabin design and updated tech, it can make sense to stretch to the 2021, but you should expect to pay more for that upgrade. For most price-sensitive shoppers, the 2020 offers the stronger balance of capability and cost.
