CarGurus Analysis: 2020 Chrysler 300

Summary
With 609 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,415.00, 27.9% of 2020 Chrysler 300s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Chrysler 300 4.78 / 5 stars.
60.6% of 2020 Chrysler 300 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Chrysler 300 stands out as one of the last big rear-wheel-drive American sedans, and its appeal starts with size, comfort, and a distinctly classic look. Chrysler’s long-running formula gave it a roomy cabin and a full-size presence without making it feel enormous, while the brand’s rear-drive layout and available all-wheel drive helped keep it relevant for buyers who wanted something different from the typical midsize sedan. It also carried a reputation for durable V6 and V8 powertrains, which is a major part of its appeal in the used market.
By 2020, the 300 had already been through years of updates, and the model had settled into a familiar, well-equipped shape. Chrysler had added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in 2017, and after 2019 the car was essentially frozen in time. That makes the 2020 version attractive to shoppers who want a straightforward large sedan with modern infotainment and a proven mechanical formula rather than the latest redesign. It is also worth noting that AWD was confined to V6 models, so buyers looking for all-weather traction had a clear engine choice to make.
The tradeoff is that the 300’s strengths are more about comfort, space, and presence than sharp handling or cutting-edge features. It was not as performance focused as the Dodge Charger sibling, and its big size came with a big appetite for fuel. Still, for buyers who want a roomy, comfortable sedan with strong road manners and a traditional American character, the 2020 Chrysler 300 remains distinctive.

Best sedan in its category. Built well and updated but not drastically changed over time. Lot of room inside and solid construction. Very quiet ride and good power. Gets 20 MPG in city and about 28 MPG on highway. I love mine and used low mileage vehicle are a bargain.

Is the 2020 Chrysler 300 a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Chrysler 300 earns a 4.78/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Drivers consistently praise its smooth and quiet ride, good power, and ample space. Many also like its affordability and design, especially if you want a roomy, comfortable sedan with a classic full-size feel rather than a typical midsize alternative. The overview also fits that use case: you get a large, rear-wheel-drive sedan with available all-wheel drive and modern infotainment, so it works well if you value comfort, presence, and straightforward everyday usability.
With 29.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.
Is the 2020 Chrysler 300 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary points to a well-built sedan with a smooth, quiet ride and good power, which are the kinds of traits shoppers often associate with dependable ownership. Drivers also describe it as affordable and appealing over time, reinforcing the sense that it can be a trouble-free choice when maintained properly.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s basic formula and more about finding one that has been cared for consistently.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chrysler 300?
At 60.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on body condition, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that can hint at past repairs. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a large sedan like this is best bought on care history as much as on mileage.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chrysler 300?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 616 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.35% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 60.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $17,811.24, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Chrysler 300's resale value?
The current average of $18,378 sits slightly below last year's $20,500.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation. The model’s broad appeal still helps, especially for shoppers who want a comfortable, full-size sedan with a traditional character.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 60.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.35% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $20,474, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,378 average.
- It adds a rare luxury-sedan feel with available AWD and a Hemi V8.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year with a broader premium feel, the 2021 is the better secondary path for price-sensitive buyers who still want the Chrysler 300 formula.
