Is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Its appeal is rooted in its compact size, higher seating position, and value-oriented packaging, plus useful features like available all-wheel drive and a modern infotainment setup. The 2020 Chevrolet Trax is presented as a practical, value-focused small SUV with straightforward everyday usability. Its strengths are its maneuverability, affordability, and useful packaging, while its performance is only adequate. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent wear, then make sure the cabin electronics and infotainment features work as expected. Because this model is value-oriented, condition matters a lot in separating a good buy from one that may need extra spending.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,712 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,384, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $12,384 sits slightly below last year's $13,657.

That price movement suggests the Trax has continued to lose value, which can work against you if you're planning to sell in the near future. A softer market often means you should buy with a focus on condition and price discipline, because those factors will matter when it is time to resell. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organized, you can help protect your exit value.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $13,136, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $12,384 average.
• It adds a more critical view of the Trax’s overall value and daily-driving competence.

The bottom line: If you want the better price and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2020 is the stronger value play. If you can spend more and want to compare against a newer model year, the 2021 is worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2020 easier to justify.
